Digital Production Specialist
As Digital Production Specialist, you will support the Production team by converting products to a printable format that may be utilized for other web-based purposes such as digital distribution and assist with other tasks associated with the recreation and organization of assets.
You will sit directly with the Production Team, work in close collaboration with Production, Editorial, Marketing, and Purchasing Teams, and report to the Director, Digital Production.
Core Functions:
- Prepare print-ready PDF files for front and back-list products sent to digital/offset presses.
- Prioritize and update the status of pending reprints utilizing unit sales history to ensure timely completion of reprints.
- Update and maintains templates/layouts ensuring adherence to branding standards across all printed and digital products.
- Research, manipulate, and update relevant files within the Digital Asset Management system (DAM) and/or local archives, repurposing these files for reprints, internal/external file requests.
- Responsible for performing all post-production related tasks.
- Perform reprint corrections.
- Pre-flight print-ready PDF files and correct deficiencies.
- Supply proofs according to specifications for Digital/Offset proofing.
- Provide QA proofing for production, editorial, and/or other departments when necessary.
- Diagnosis problems and provide technical support for the press.
- Support and advise internal staff/external vendors to facilitate delivery of assets and verify adherence to press specifications.
- Review proofs from outside vendors to verify correct condition of files and revise or approve as necessary.
- Operate scanner as necessary for the reconstruction of reprinted titles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Music or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of working experience in a print production environment.
- Working knowledge of digital image editing including print layout, color correction, and manipulation of both vector and raster images.
- Demonstrated PC and Mac OS environments/hardware/peripherals experience.
- Proficiency using Google Workspace tools, Adobe Creative Cloud (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Distiller), Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel), and QuarkXpress.
Desired Qualifications:
- Music training and/or general knowledge of musical concepts and the ability to copy-edit music and text.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Great attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities; work well under pressure with a positive attitude.
- Must be able to collaborate, receive direction, and follow specific guidelines; Experience using FileMaker, AS400, Suitcase Fusion, ASANA, Slack, and/or FTP clients.

Compensation:
Peaksware/Alfred Music is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The hourly range for this role is $14.74 - $24.57. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment that is well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned with adequate ventilation and a noise level that is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
