The Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s is a dynamic, national nonprofit organization located in Colorado. Our mission is to help people with Parkinson’s to live well today and we inform and inspire hundreds of thousands of people living with Parkinson’s around the world each year through our programs.

About the Position

Annually, the Davis Phinney Foundation serves hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world through our digital resources. In addition to connecting individuals with information about upcoming events, giving opportunities and local resources, our digital channels serve as a main (and sometimes only) contact point between us and those we serve. 

The Digital Marketing Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that the mission and goals of the Foundation are met through strategic, thoughtful and innovative use of our digital channels. This person is passionate about user experience, driven to provide a highly personalized and relevant experience for our audience and loves digging into data and problem-solving.

Specific Accountabilities 

  • Big Picture Strategy & Management 
    • Conceive, plan, build and implement the Foundation’s digital marketing strategy
    • Work closely with Director of Programs & Outreach and team to support recruitment, attendance and audience goals
    • Work closely with the Director of Education and team to deliver best in class digital content experiences
    • Work closely with Director of Development and team to establish and employ best practices on multi-channel digital fundraising appeals and communications
    • Lead and manage Marketing Associate and duties associated with this position
    • Manage and mentor Marketing Intern (when applicable)
  • Email Marketing
    • Create ongoing strategy for list segmentation using constituent data to deliver thoughtful and personalized communications to constituents and donors
    • Ensure the timely and accurate execution of all scheduled communications with support from Marketing Associate
    • Stay up to date on Luminate Online email, data and list management tools and continuously develop and implement best practices for using these tools to create successful campaigns
  • SEO & Analytics
    • Determine annual goals for traffic, conversions, search results, etc.
    • Stay current on and implement SEO, Google Analytics and AdWords best practices
    • Work with external advisors to address high level analytics and Google AdWords efforts
    • Work closely with Director of Education and team to ensure SEO best practices are used when publishing content (blog, video, etc.)
    • Employ analytics and conversion rate optimization strategies to improve donor and constituent experience, transaction metrics and fundraising response.
    • Provide insights around trends (keywords, search terms, engagement) to help inform programming and education strategies
    • Manage weekly reporting for marketing department and support reporting needs for development, research and other departments
  • Website
    • Lead the charge on website development, innovation and redesigns
    • Stay current on and implement UX best practices
    • Work with external contractors to manage ongoing maintenance
    • Provide support for internal maintenance, edits, page creation, etc. as needed across dpf.org and for Team Raiser fundraising pages
  • Social Media
    • Create and implement ongoing social media strategy to increase audience breadth and engagement with support from Marketing Associate
    • Provide guidance on social media and Foundation best practices for internal and external users (including Ambassadors, Team DPF events and fundraisers, etc.)
    • Create annual digital advertising strategy and budget for programs, outreach and fundraising
    • Work with the content team to develop and implement repurposing strategies across a variety of channels
  • Data
    • Use Foundation best practices for keeping constituent data clean and up to date
    • Stay current on Blackbaud products and take the lead on training and implementation of best practices around reporting, maintenance, compliance and use of constituent data

General Responsibilities

  • Ability to travel 3-4 times per year to attend community events 
  • Support the development and innovation of the Foundation’s online presence
  • Support and build the Foundation’s reputation as a leading resource for living well with Parkinson’s
  • Assist in other activities on the behalf of the Foundation

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate is well-versed in all things digital marketing and is hungry to learn about and implement trends and best practices to help the Foundation reach its goals. This person is highly strategic, detail-oriented and has a strong intuition for communication timing and message. Additionally, this person is a team player who enjoys managing others, working across all departments and programs and can adapt to a wide range of personal styles. 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in digital marketing
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SEO, UX and digital advertising best practices
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Previous non-profit experience preferred
  • Experience with Wordpress preferred
  • Experience with Blackbaud products preferred (Raisers Edge, Luminate, TeamRaiser, Online Express)

Physical Requirements

Our ideal candidate in this job must be able to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office machinery
  • Occasionally raise objects (equipment and boxes) weighing up to 35 lbs. from a lower to higher position or horizontally (lifting)
  • Occasionally use upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects (pulling) in a sustained motion
  • Occasionally needs to push against something with steady force in order to move something

Salary

Salary range is between $50,000 and $56,000, commensurate with background and experience, plus paid vacation/sick time, retirement plan and health insurance benefits.
