B2B Content Marketer

SurveyGizmo is looking for a full-time B2B Content Marketer in our Boulder office. We aren’t just looking for the average run-of-the-mill content marketer, but a rare breed of the modern content marketer that possesses out-of-this-world product writing skills focused on conversion.

To ensure our world-class product always has it’s best foot forward, the B2B Content Marketer will relentlessly improve any and all product-focused content (i.e. landing pages, solution packages, sales collateral, case studies), ensure the sales team is equipped with materials to effectively sell, and evaluate closed lost opportunities to see where future improvements may be.

Our content makers are excellent writers, stellar grammacists, convey emotion in their writing, and have the ability to explain complicated and technical things simply. We measure our success in swiftness, accuracy, and clarity as well as organic traffic bumps, trial sign-ups, amount of qualified leads that the content generates, and opt-ins to our weekly blog digest newsletter. The occasional use of a well-played gif or meme may be required.

As a B2B Content Marketer with a focus in creating product content, a typical day might include:

  • Collaborating with the Product and Sales teams to coordinate on content production
  • Leading a sales training on best practices for using the collateral you have produced and guiding them with competitive differentiators
  • Attending an Editorial Planning meeting and providing product-related insight
  • Working with our Data Analyst to understand performance of product-focused content and identify possible optimizations based on the analysis
  • Working with the Content Team to ensure alignment of content throughout the buyer’s journey
  • Brainstorming possible experiments based on audience segment, persona, product offered, and buyer journey stage
  • Working with the Seattle-based design team to ensure all public-facing product content is on-brand, consistent, and optimized for end use (digital and/or print)
  • Building landing pages, drafting copy, proofreading, and ensuring everything you create is optimized against SEO best practices
  • Develop product positioning, messaging, and go-to market strategies for new and existing products
  • Petting the honorary marketing team member, Castle
  • Enjoying a stocked kitchen and waiting in line for your turn with the coffee robot
  • If it’s Thursday, grabbing a free 15-minute massage slot from a licensed massage therapist

This job might be for you if:

  • You’re an exceptional writer and in fact, all of your communication skills are held to a Gold Standard. You speak eloquently. You can explain just about anything to anyone, and you’re comfortable communicating in writing and orally.
  • Have an eye for design and can work seamlessly with creative graphic and user experience designers.
  • Pay attention to the details. As far as you’re concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing right, every single time. You stay focused, and nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
  • Constantly evaluate the efficacy of your work with metrics. You are not one to settle for good enough.
  • Love to run experiments and continuously improve the performance of everything you create -- does this make you a mad scientist? We hope so.
  • Believe conversion rates can always improve because no one ever said making too much money is a problem.
  • Always learning about about the challenges faced by our target market and how our solution can solve for them.
  • Obsessively track the competition and market trends because you believe there is no way we aren’t going to be anything other than the absolute best.
  • Find engaging with customers on regular basis an absolute necessity to do your job well in order to truly understand the real-world use cases of our product.
  • You are motivated and driven. You volunteer for new challenges without waiting to be asked.
  • You are a natural born storyteller and know how to create a hook and communicate creatively.

To land this gig, the requirements are:

  • 3+ years of experience developing and executing product messaging and positioning across channels (preferably in mid-market/enterprise marketing)
  • Experience in driving pricing and packaging strategy in SaaS environments
  • Deep understanding of the mid-market/enterprise SaaS space

Extra awesome:

  • Have basic design skills (you’ve played around in Sketch, Canva, and maybe toyed around with InDesign, Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
  • Certified in Google Analytics
  • Project management skills
  • SEO certification from Moz or other industry leaders
  • Bring Castle dog treats

Sounds all good? But what about SurveyGizmo is truly unique? Our culture is:

  • Customer-centric -- we will go above and beyond to bring delight to our customers time and again. Because we are nothing without them.
  • Fast -- not great for those who get easily car sick, but who need speed to achieve and fall flat when in static, slow-moving environments.
  • Quirky and full of weird -- we welcome and embrace everyone! Maybe it’s the Boulder way of life, but we believe nerds of all kinds are the best kinds of people.
  • Respectful -- we’re not jerks to each other. We have fun, but we know what boundaries are.
  • Collaborative -- after all, it takes a village, they tell us.
  • Constantly learning -- we never claim to know it all and constantly seek out new information, different perspectives, best practices, industry trends, and innovative problem-solving tactics whether that’s picking up a new book or taking a co-worker from another department for coffee

Doesn’t sound so much like you but someone you know? Do us a solid and pass this posting their way! Much appreciated.
