Content and SEM Specialist
Zen Planner is looking for a Content and SEM Specialist who will support Zen Planner’s inbound marketing strategy through managing our content marketing strategy, supporting the Sales team, owning our search engine marketing program and analyzing and reporting on these efforts.
Our ideal candidate is highly-organized, quick to adapt, a self-starter and an excellent verbal and written communicator. Must have a passion for doing what it takes to become an expert in the topic at hand, whether it be a new fitness trend or small business problem.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with internal teams including Customer Success, Sales and Product
- Own content leads through the Zen Planner sales funnel (tracking, conversion and ROI)
- Act as the Outbound Sales channel enablement manager assisting them with campaigns, training, resources and ultimately improving their metrics
- Implement and refine processes to help increase prospect to marketing qualified lead conversion rates for Outbound Sales team
- Utilize a combination of best practices and creative problem solving to continually test and improve conversion rates from prospect to marketing qualified lead, as well as close rates
- Manage and continuously optimize the Zen Planner PPC program
- Own the company’s SEO strategy by optimizing all online content, including the website, landing pages, blog posts and content pieces, to align with the current strategy
- Utilize a combination of best practices and creative problem solving to continually test and improve our online conversion rate to become an expert in driving online conversions
- Develop and manage the content strategy across the whole buyer’s journey including the management of our outsourced content writer and designer
- Plan, develop and draft blog posts, landing pages, emails, ad copy, press releases and eBooks, and manage the creative development of this pieces
- Proofread, edit and optimize all content coming from the Marketing team
- Define, expand and execute the Zen Planner brand across multiple verticals, and create guidelines for company usage
- Continued support of all marketing campaigns and initiatives as they arise
- Measure and analyze digital content effectiveness through tools such as Google Analytics, AdWords, SalesForce and HubSpot
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience required
- Copywriting, SEO and PPC experience required
- WordPress and HubSpot experience preferred
- 2+ year’s experience working in a variety of marketing tactics and strategies
- Demonstrate understanding of existing and emerging marketing tools, strategies for optimization and industry trends
- A desire to be the first to do things and the creativity to conceive of what that means
- Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced environment, and ability to prioritize/meet deadlines within specific time constraints
- Ability to work on your own as well as with a team
- Strong English, editorial and creative writing skills
- Excellent research, proofreading and editing skills
- Ability to collaborate, motivate and influence others
- Must be able to roll up your sleeves—this is a hands-on position as well as a strategic one

- Experience using Adobe PhotoShop, Acrobat and InDesign
- Experience with social media, email marketing and PR
- Experience with testing tools such as Optimizely
- Familiarity with the Inbound Marketing strategy
- Technical understanding of marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot
- Personal passion for fitness (CrossFit, Dance, Martial Arts, Gymnastics, Yoga, Pilates and other fitness disciplines)
