Communications Manager

Position Description: 

Vangst is looking for a copy-slinging Communications Manager to help us lead, plan and implement our messaging strategy. You will be a key member of the Marketing team focused on creating and distributing high-quality content that engages Vangst’s candidates and client communities and builds brand recognition. The ideal candidate will be a proven self-starter who demonstrates extraordinary initiative, excellent communication, a strong track record of inter-team collaboration, and extreme attention to deadlines and details. 

As our Communications Manager, your main duties will include evolving and maintaining our overall external messaging approach, creating engaging blog and written/visual content pieces, managing Vangst’s email marketing strategy, working hand-in-hand with sales and product to curate a powerful collateral library, managing press requests and external coverage of Vangst. Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Stewards and puts in motion communication strategies that build client and candidate interest, engagement, conversion, and loyalty. Must apply a strong educational and community focus to all communications output.
  • Owns email marketing strategy, execution, and measurement, including monthly newsletters, automated messaging, seasonal campaigns, and event/promo messaging

  • Responsible for the creation/oversight of external-facing copy and content 

  • Collaborates with sales team to curate a library of effective, up-to-date pitch decks, one-sheeters, sales tools, and more

  • In collaboration with Marketing Director, oversees the growth, development and day-to-day performance of Vangst’s Community Manager

  • Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all marketing materials.

  • Interfaces with Vangst’s external PR team to manage inbound press requests, mine new storytelling opportunities, and build industry liaisons

  • Leads all industry report initiatives from concept to publishing, in collaboration with larger Vangst marketing team

  • Creates new and effective ways to engage with/convert our candidate and client audiences through education, conversational, and relevant content

  • Work closely with the product and marketing team to create and distribute ongoing product news and updates to Vangst.com platform members

  • Supervise projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready

 

Required Experience: 

  • 6+ years of brand, marketing, or communications experience with an emphasis on content creation and email marketing

  • Comfort with Hubspot (or other similar CRM), and CMS/blog tooling (GraphsCMS, Wordpress, etc)

  • Prior direct employee management experience a strong plus

  • Basic design skills (including Adobe Design Suite) a plus, but not required

  • Impeccable grammar, writing, and editorial skills - you will be not only a content creator, but also an editor on our team!

  • Experience with building/creating messaging strategies and seeing them through 

  • An ability to take feedback and roll with the punches - the cannabis industry evolves by the minute, and so does our team.

  • Experience with and/or passion for the plant and the industry is a strong plus

  • This position is located in Denver, CO but allows remote work during covid-19; includes competitive pay, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), and 401k.
