As the Communications Manager based out of our Broomfield, CO offices, you will be the wordsmith in telling Webroot's story. In this critical role, you will drive the communications message for the company, fully leveraging your writing prowess where your passion is essential to the written word. Immersing yourself in and staying abreast of current cyber/tech issues will keep you ahead of the curve.  In this role you will assist in the development and implementation of the year-long PR, AR and communications plans. Duties will range day-to-day from PR support to creating an internal newsletter to tracking analyst interactions and much more, all with a global focus. Your honed project management skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task are critical when assisting in driving all aspects of PR and AR as well as internal communications.  This includes writing and distributing press releases, drafting bylined articles, preparing executive talking points, driving internal communications programs, and analyst relations activities

Equally as important to your success will be your business acumen, action-oriented decision quality, results orientation and of course your ability to be adaptable and fluid in a quick-paced environment.   You are passionate about the technology space, hardworking and maintain the perfect balance between autonomy and being a strong team-player.  There are no limits to the opportunities this position will present to you - come and take on the responsibility for driving communications initiatives in this critical role.

Responsibility Breakdown

General functions:

  • Act as main point of contact for internal organizations including product, product marketing, and sales.
  • Devise and draft communications and analyst relations plans.
  • Conduct professional interaction with senior executives.
  • Create and edit content with a critical eye to detail.
  • Use strategic tools to plan and analyze program

PR functions:

  • Research, develop, and proof media materials
  • Cultivate and pitch media stories
  • Create content across various segments including consumer, small- to medium-sized businesses, managed service providers and enterprise tech.
  • Investigate tech and PR trends applicable to Webroot
  • Own corporate PR bucket
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple teams at Webroot including consumer, business, threat intelligence, social media, etc.
  • Handle management of online press room
  • Work with team of agency personnel in planning, developing, and implementing public relations programs and activities

Internal functions:

  • Own internal newsletter editorial process and creation
  • Assist with issues management communications and documentation
  • Update internal SharePoint site

AR functions:

  • Develop external newsletter content and program
  • Research and create analyst backgrounders, briefing documents, and presentation decks
  • Assist with planning, both pre-briefing and post-briefing interactions, and calendaring analyst meetings
  • Help the team build its research library
  • Assist in the development of a research calendar
