Spark is a venture-backed startup with a team of A-players who come together every day to meet our ambitious goal of disrupting a stale industry. We are looking for a versatile Brand Manager to join our 12-person (and growing) team. Our ideal candidate has experience with brand management and marketing in a startup environment, and a unique ability to forge solid professional relationships with coworkers, management and stakeholders. 

You will be a key member of our marketing team, acting as part strategist, part creative and part project manager. You will work closely with the Director of Marketing to build our brand and define the direction and evolution of Spark in order to inspire more people to cook outside. The work will require creativity, tenacity and adaptability in a rapidly-evolving business environment, a passion for the unknown, and solid knowledge of a wide-range of marketing functions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and steward a world-class direct-to-consumer brand, always tying our approach back to customer insights.
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, user tests and other research to gain a deep understanding of who our customers are and the market of options they experience today.
  • Create audience personas that can inform all aspects of our brand and marketing strategy. 
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of a thorough, detailed go-to-market plan, including closed alpha, limited beta, and primary public launches. 
  • Recruit, assess and manage multiple agency partners, vendors and contractors in order to smoothly and reliably deliver a broad mix of content/creative across web, print, packaging, PR, social, video, email and more.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of Spark events and nurture important community relationships.  
  • Project manage a variety of detailed marketing initiatives from packaging to website development. Smoothly navigate unexpected changes and curveballs.
  • Manage budgets, including vendor/agency fees, print and shipping costs and paid advertising spend. 
  • Analyze key metrics that can drive our thought process around spend, targeting and segmentation, channel strategy, etc. 
  • Maintain brand consistency while executing a variety of creative deliverables, including email, social media content, event signage and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5 years of experience in brand/marketing management or related role. 
  • Experience organizing and producing content needs such as photo/video shoots, blog posts, events and social media photography.
  • Proficiency with one or more creative tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Sketch is a plus.
  • Ability to think strategically about our customers and our business. 
  • Ability to think analytically and own marketing budgets and KPIs. 
  • Ability to think creatively and maintain consistency in branding.
  • Ability to raise the bar on anything we produce. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
