Tendril is a leading provider of energy-focused consumer engagement, energy management, and data analytics solutions to the utility industry. The Advertising Strategy and Account Development Consultant will help us develop and manage relationships with advertisers, and develop our advertising offer and strategy, as we begin to include advertising in our Home Energy Reports.

Context

Tendril sends out regular Home Energy Reports and other energy communications to over 3 million households.  Those communications are white labeled with the utility’s name, brand and contact information.  They have very high engagement rates - our paper Home Energy Reports (HERs) have a 76% open rate.

We are currently conducting a pilot with one large utility partner to prove the value of advertising on Home Energy Reports -- to recruit initial advertisers, develop proof points to substantiate a premium price for HER advertising space, to refine the offer and pricing, and to grow a meaningful new revenue stream for Tendril’s HER business.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for a Consultant to help us develop and manage relationships with advertisers who would be interested in working with us for the pilot.  Our goal is to reach out to a number of advertisers and establish relationships with a few.

The consultant will be responsible for:

  • Developing relationships with these advertisers, independently and through our utility client
  • Negotiating terms with them
  • Managing the partnerships throughout the life of the pilot
  • Project management
  • Helping evolve Tendril’s offer, pricing and go to market strategy to generate proof points that will enable growth of our advertising revenue stream.
  • Advise on all strategic elements of advertising business growth
