The Paralegal works side-by-side with our VP of Corporate Counsel and the Finance department to help create processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department and the legal team, facilitate change, and control costs. They manage and support projects across the full range of subject matter supported by the legal team. The Paralegal proactively identifies areas of need and generates action plans.

Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

  • Develop and enforce processes and policies to optimize workflow within the legal function as well as manage outside counsel usage and spend
  • Administer the contract lifecycle management process
  • Administer corporate governance operations and employee stock option management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, technical support, business development, regulatory compliance, internal IT, and finance, as well as various business units
  • Help the VP of Corporate Counsel define and drive strategic and operational initiatives with on-time and on-budget results
  • Assist in identifying and implementing legal tools to streamline new or existing practices, as well as managing design, rollout, and training for new systems
  • Assist with miscellaneous activities

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least three (3) years of experience with legal project operations and management in-house or at a law firm (both preferred)
  • Prior experience developing forms, processes, playbooks, and policies
  • Demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining the support needed from stakeholders while working in a cross-functional role
  • Proven track record of collaborating with groups (e.g., finance, operations, product, sales, internal IT) to set objectives and produce meaningful results
  • Strong experience in developing, implementing, and using legal department technology solutions (e.g., ServiceNow, IP management, DocuSign/SignNow e-signature)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to rebound from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situations
  • Ability to gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity
  • Ability to know the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals

Required Education & Certifications:

B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience

Compensation:

  • Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $64,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
