Your impact at SumUp:

The Legal Administrator will be a key member of SumUp’s global Legal team, providing organization and support to attorneys and other professionals around the world.  The position is located in Boulder, Colorado, and reports to the General Counsel.


The Legal Administrator will manage day-to-day business and operational functions of the SumUp Legal team, supporting the delivery of high-quality legal services to internal clients. In addition to having general responsibility for a variety of administrative tasks, the Legal Administrator will 

  • administer outside counsel engagement and legal billing processes for SumUp globally, including the collection, accrual, and payment of outside counsel invoices;
  • assist in managing legal technologies (e.g., document management, contract management and privacy management systems)
  • develop informational and training materials relating to the Legal team;
  • manage document retention and collection for subpoena, government agency, and litigation requests; 
  • organize Legal team events; and
  • lead and support various ad hoc projects within the Legal team, as needed.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a diverse skill set--including strong organizational and communication skills, experience with corporate legal operations, and careful attention to detail--and and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  He or she will be expected to manage office functions economically and efficiently, organize work, establish priorities and build strong relationships within the Legal department, with outside counsel, and with SumUp stakeholders around the world.  

Qualifications:

  • Related work experience in law firm or corporate legal or accounting department; understanding of legal workflows and familiarity with enterprise legal management software (e.g., Serengeti/Legal Tracker) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, while being a collaborative member of the team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple, at times competing, priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems or resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace suites.

SumUp is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  The salary range for this position in Boulder, CO is $60,000 to $70,000.  Since this position is remote-friendly, compensation will be finalized by candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location.
