Arturo is seeking an experienced General Counsel with significant in-house transactional and general corporate experience. Our General Counsel will support complex customer, partner, reseller, and strategic transactions, including structuring, drafting, and negotiating agreements.

What you will do:

  • Work closely with business leadership and financial functions to execute transactions which advance our business objectives
  • Draft and negotiate domestic and international business contracts, including partner, reseller and customer service agreements, joint development agreements, and strategic collaboration agreements
  • Guide deal structuring, manage the deal process and outside counsel
  • Support corporate transactions (capital raises, M&A, etc.), plan and manage legal due diligence, and draft and negotiate definitive agreements
  • Provide legal counsel on issues facing the Company
  • Build effective relationships with corporate and business teams to bring about the timely and successful closure of transactions
  • Support strategic planning process

What you bring:

  • Minimum 10 years experience, including 3-4 years as in-house counsel within a technology-based industry
  • Ability to independently identify needs, issues, risks, goals and solutions in a fast-paced and highly demanding environment
  • Business orientation to understand and advance business objectives
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple matters simultaneously and to respond to rapidly shifting priorities in ambiguous or challenging situations
  • Strong in commercial transactions and contract drafting but will also have a well-rounded set of legal skills and be able to assist in all areas of legal needs for the company
  • Experience engaging with a wide range of counter-parties on a global scale
  • Vision and the ability to ensure management participation and buy-in including the ability to demonstrate confidence in making difficult decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully concluding negotiation of complex transactions
  • Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and membership in one or more state bars preferably Colorado and Illinois
  • Ability to foster buy-in across the organization
  • Must be comfortable and adept at balancing risk and opportunity
  • Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, time-sensitive and collaborative environment
  • Experience navigating distributed organizational structure is desired

Nice to have:

  • Insurtech (Property & Casualty, FinTech, AI experience desired
  • Experience within a SaaS environment preferred
  • Experience with complex IP related matters
  • International experience
