Corporate Counsel - eDiscovery
Department Summary
DISH Network has an exciting opportunity for a litigation attorney with at least 5-7 years of experience handling ediscovery in complex civil litigation and regulatory matters. This Corporate Counsel position is full-time and permanent with standard work hours and located at our corporate headquarters in Englewood, Colorado.
The Corporate Counsel is a critical member of DISH's Litigation team who works closely with corporate and outside counsel to support DISH's eDiscovery efforts. This position also interacts with business teams throughout the organization to identify and gather evidence relevant to litigation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with merits counsel to develop and carry out eDiscovery strategy in litigation and regulatory matters;
- Collaborate effectively with IT-eDiscovery team members to provide legal direction with respect to data preservation, collection, processing, transfer and remediation efforts;
- Work directly with outside counsel to scope out and respond to discovery requests;
- Work with case managers at our preferred third party service providers to direct document reviews and productions;
- Lead and implement eDiscovery program enhancement projects;
- Handle escalated subpoenas and other small litigation matters as merits counsel;
- Provide legal advice and training regarding eDiscovery best practices;
- Help drive DISH's eDiscovery strategy by developing defensible and scalable workflows that can be deployed consistently across matters.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
- JD degree with strong academic credentials from an accredited law school;
- 5-7 years of litigation experience at a major law firm or corporation with a focus on eDiscovery;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team;
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical and research skills;
- Familiarity with common document review platforms, including Relativity and CS DISCO;
- Understanding of and comfort level with relational databases;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Bar membership or ability to obtain full license or appropriate limited license or certification necessary to practice law in Colorado.
Salary Range
Compensation: $140,250.00/Year - $190,000.00/Year
