This senior level position will provide legal support for one of Zayo’s most strategic Sales groups, focusing on more sophisticated, strategic and complex sales negotiations and other opportunities for the company. We are seeking an exceptionally strong and seasoned legal candidate who can hit the ground running, and who is ready for accelerated learning and career growth.
Negotiate complex customer and other high-dollar contracts with minimal need for supervision on complicated legal and commercial issues. Must be a creative thinker who can put Zayo’s customers first and creatively solve problems while also protecting the company from unreasonable risk.
Make decisions, be resourceful, and work independently with minimal supervision as part of a busy legal department in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Assist with claims, litigation, dispute resolution and settlements, as necessary.
Assist with M&A activities, as necessary.
Assist with Zayo’s regulatory advocacy strategies where needed.
Mentor junior team members.
Partner to assist the business with response to issues outside of normal business expectations, including incidents related to security, privacy, disaster recovery, and data integrity, as necessary.
Professionally and effectively communicate with all levels of staff, internally and externally.
Consistently ensure that business is conducted with integrity at all times and that behavior aligns with Zayo’s high ethical standards and its policies, procedures, and core competencies.
Law degree and bar admission required.
A minimum of 7 years of legal experience in negotiating commercial transactions, ideally in telecom and/or technology.
Ability to communicate with other personnel and external parties on complicated topics through strong, organized writing and verbal skills.
Ability to work independently, while being a collaborative member of the team.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including management of projects and workload and setting goals and priorities.
Must be a strong team player able to work cooperatively with others both internal and external to the company to find practical and creative solutions to problems.
Computer and software systems experience is helpful.
Prior experience successfully operating in a fluid, fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.
Base salary range: $157,000- 159,000
Full-time Zayo employees are also eligible for discretionary cash bonuses which are based on Zayo and individual performance
