Title:

J7 Modeling and Simulation Joint Training/Exercise Planner

KBR is seeking a J7 Modeling and Simulation Joint Training/Exercise Planner to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. An active TS/SCI clearance is MANDATORY.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide modeling and simulation (M&S) integration and execution support to USSPACECOM exercises, training, and wargames, including supporting analysis, review, and assessment of key performance parameters and coordinating with appropriate system architects/engineers to resolve any issues or troubleshoot M&S tools being used and provide resolution to obtain the needed capability.
  • Using government provided tools and models, develop, test, and execute fully integrated and dynamic M&S to simulate all display systems used during exercises, training, and wargames.  The following systems, as a minimum, are required:
    • Common Operational Picture (COP), SDCCS, STK, JIMDTS, PDS-M, Intelink, and ITW/AA displays.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers/organizations during the planning phase to identify and implement an appropriate simulation architecture based on requirements and objectives of a given event.  Propose technical solutions and/or alternatives to requirements not currently integrated into a simulation architecture.
  • Support the selection, implementation, and execution of detailed computer models or alternative analysis tools for assessment, experimentation, concept development, demonstrations, prototyping, and wargames.
  • Develop use cases, user scenarios, concepts of operations, and assist in designing simulation experiments to support modeling and simulation analytics.
  • Provide innovative M&S services and capabilities.  Assist the government with responsible prototyping of new M&S offerings through experimentation, prototyping, testing, and fielding of already developed components into the distributed training environment.  Support technical planning and communication of the architecture design and development in order to facilitate integration of the M&S effort’s delivery to a world-wide training audience.
  • Perform Simulation Coordinator functions for specified exercises/training events to include facilitation of the M&S Working Group at planning conferences, selection of appropriate M&S tools, coordination with internal and external agencies, and conduct of database/system event tests.
  • Support research, test, evaluation, and implementation of existing and emerging hardware and software M&S systems with the potential to improve current simulation capabilities or to stimulate current or near-future operational systems within the USSPACECOM mission set that are not currently stimulated by simulations during exercise and training events.
  • Demonstrate depth of expertise in the following areas: space operations intelligence, modeling and simulation activities, use of government provided tools and models to develop, test, and execute fully-integrated and dynamic M&S systems with the potential to improve current capabilities.
  • Provide M&S controller/role player tasks during exercise/training events.
  • Archive data and maintain historical M&S databases.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • An active TS/SCI with ACCM and SAP eligibility, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher required;
  • Experience using M&S to develop Government specified content for USSPACECOM J7 joint exercises, tabletop exercises, proof of concepts, experiments, live fire and rehearsal of concept drills, or similar and relevant Combatant Command / MAJCOM / HHQ / Joint Staff / OSD experience.
  • Advanced capability initiating, supervising, and developing requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.
  • Advanced experience providing strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff. 
  • Experience identifying challenges, making recommendations to the client and providing assistance and support at the strategic level.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Extensive experience developing, memorandums, talking papers, staff packages, and other DoD correspondence.  
  • Experience developing senior level briefings.  Experience briefing and interacting with senior (GO/FLAG) level officer and senior civilians.
  • Experience coordinating plans between internal and external staff agencies to ensure a coherent effort.
  • Current/relevant space / joint space operations knowledge and background.

Desired:

  • Completion of JPME I is highly desired, and JPME II is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Colorado Springs, CO
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

$110,000 - $125,000

This range is for Colorado only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
