Role:

Splunk is looking for highly motivated college students to join our team. As an intern, you will work on a real project (or a few) and have an opportunity to enjoy our dynamic, startup-like environment.

You will experience Splunking and what defines our culture while honing the skills which separate our development teams from others. Working to support internal and external customer needs, you will collaborate with multi-functional teams, receive mentorship, and gain insight into our values-driven process. Responsibilities:

As a Web Developer Intern you will be responsible for developing the user interface to enhance our products. This includes designing workflows for analyzing and visualizing data, and providing a customizable dashboard framework. Our web interface is built on a modern frontend technology stack: open source JavaScript libraries (React/Redux), ES6 JavaScript, REST APIs, and HTML5.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• You have experience building web applications: in a class, as a personal hobby, as a job, as part of an open source project
• You have the ability to work well with others within an agile development team
• You enjoy working well with others in a fast-paced environment
• You enjoy working within an agile environment
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:

• You have experience working in a commercial or open source software development team
• You have experience working with any of the following frontend JavaScript technologies: jQuery, Backbone, React/Redux etc...
• You have experience working with analytics or data visualization technologies (e.g. D3.js)
• You have experience working with Big Data technology such as Hadoop, Spark
• You have experience writing Python or JavaScript based UI web drivers for automated tests
• You have experience with Splunk products

Education:

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, and strong record of academic achievement
