Technical Intern – Systems Engineer
At Ball Aerospace, Systems Engineers work to ensure the technical success of the entire system – verifying not only that the components function on their own, but also when integrated together. Systems engineers are involved in every stage of the product lifecycle, from the conception of tomorrow’s cutting-edge technologies to proposal writing, detailed design, assembly and test, and finally launch and operations. The Systems Engineering department is looking for college undergraduates and graduate students who have the ability to accomplish diverse technical assignments and the communication skills to interact with technical experts, government customers, and other commercial space companies. Our past interns have supported development of advanced star trackers, written NASA proposals for new missions, assessed the health and performance of on-orbit satellites, and helped design next-generation spacecraft and their payloads. This year, we are looking for students particularly interested requirements traceability, Model Based Systems Engineering, and verification efforts at all stages of development, from proposals to components to full integration.
