MBA Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Summer Intern (Greater Denver Area, CO or Remote)
Summary:
The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) MBA Internship is a growth opportunity for an MBA or other graduate-level student interested in going into the Environmental, Social, and Governance profession. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, the ability to take initiative, excellent research and writing skills, and experience developing initiatives for scaling commercial strategy operations.
The intern will be a key member of the ESG team in Summer 2024. The internship will provide a hands-on learning experience working cross-functionally with subject matter experts throughout the company. The internship can be in-person or hybrid for a student located near our Ames, IA office or remote.

What You'll Do:
Conduct research on industry best practices, emerging ESG trends and regulatory frameworks.
Provide insights and recommendations to influence Workiva's overall ESG strategy and programs.
Work closely with many internal stakeholders, including Finance, HR, IT/InfoTech, Investor Relations, Legal, Communications, and subject matter experts across the business to support the goal of positioning Workiva as a SaaS leader in ESG.
May include collaboratively on the creation of articles, social media posts, website updates, newsletters, talking points, status reports, and other related communications materials.
What You'll Need:
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in first year of an MBA program or a similar graduate program.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Finance or Accounting. Minor or certifications in Environmental, Social, and Governance, Public Policy, Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability or related field, a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years project management or reporting experience within a large or midsize, preferably global, organization; PMP certification is a plus, although not required
2+ years experience with corporate reporting and writing
Exposure to some of the ESG reporting frameworks and third-party investor ratings is a plus: Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Taskforce on Climate Financial Disclosures (TCFD), UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), DJSI, SASB, CDP, MSCI, ISS, EcoVadis, and Sustainalytics.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to research, analyze, and succinctly report data
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Access to reliable internet access throughout any period of remote work, not in a Workiva office.
