New Collection was established in 2020 as the personal art collection of entrepreneur and curator, Nicholas Pardon. Since then, we’ve acquired over 50 works, done 8 collaborations with artists, and in the coming months, we will be putting on our first exhibition and opening the doors to our new gallery space in Denver, Colorado.

New Collection seeks to provide a hands-on educational experience, and competitively paid opportunity ideal for a recent graduate or student from the fields of Art or Design. In this unique environment, interns work closely with the Curator of the Collection and Program Director.

As the New Collection Intern, you will gain professional experience while performing various duties related to collection management and exhibition preparation. This includes assisting with inventory records, researching artists in the collection and creating content for digital platforms, and participating in the planning and installing art exhibitions and events. Additionally, you will receive training and hands-on experience conducting condition reports and safely moving and storing artworks in the collection.

  • We are looking for a career-oriented individual ideally with an educational background in Fine Art, Art History, or Design.
  • This individual demonstrates knowledge and passion for contemporary art, is self-motivated and organized, works collaboratively, and communicates effectively.
  • Our ideal candidate has experience researching and writing about contemporary art or has experience working in a gallery or museum setting.
  • Must have own computer / device for communication

The Details

  • The internship is approximately three months long (with the possibility of extension).
  • Applicants must be available starting after Labor Day and through Dec. 23rd, 2021.
  • The last date for accepting applications is August 23, 2021 (subject to exception with approval).

Important Note

When you apply, we kindly ask you to remove your school from your resume. There is no need to reformat your resume and you may leave your degree (e.g. “B.A. Economics”). Just remember to remove any undergraduate and graduate school name references where possible. This “counter bias” process is aimed at opening this opportunity to more candidates; reviewing applicants on performance assessments instead of resume proxies (e.g. where you went to school).

Our Commitment

We aim to provide equal opportunity for all. We are firm believers in the strength of diversity and aim to build teams of individuals that offer unique perspectives, come from different backgrounds, and challenge each other to be better every day!
