Downtown Denver-based Company seeks an intern that possesses basic accounting knowledge, strong attention to detail and the ability to process a large volume of work with great accuracy. The ideal candidate must be a junior or senior undergraduate student, have excellent communication skills, is excited to learn, and will take initiative. The best candidate will be able to work well independently as well as with the team and be willing to take on various responsibilities. The main responsibilities include filing, processing invoices, assisting with the weekly check run, managing documents and supporting on projects as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organize AP files
  • Process various AP invoices including folios and utilities
  • Scan invoices to Coupa as needed
  • Contribute to weekly check run process
  • Assist with delinquent accounts
  • Manage and update current documents including SOPs and training materials
  • Support the team with projects and process improvements

Required Skills: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Problem Solving – Must be able to solve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully and efficiently; and work well in group problem solving situations
  • Communication Skills - Must be able to communicate effectively and in a concise manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Adaptability - Adapt to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events, appreciates the opportunity to adjust and adapt with a growing business
  • Software Expertise – Software experience preferably in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel. Ability to pick up software quickly. Experience with Salesforce.com & Jira a plus

Qualifications: Candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • Entering junior or senior year at an accredited four-year university
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail while multi-tasking in a fast paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
