Eligibility:
The Zayo internship program is open to juniors, graduating seniors (undergraduates), and graduate students. All internships are paid full-time work experiences. All internships are from June 7* - August 13, 2021 (*start date flexible to academic obligations).
Position Description:
We are looking for an efficient Payroll Intern to be responsible for all tasks regarding payroll. The Payroll Intern has a range of duties that include timekeeping, entering data into the system, auditing, and communicating with employees. To be a successful Payroll Intern, you should be able to carry out all tasks with high attention to detail. Ultimately, a top-notch Payroll Intern should be highly organized and possess excellent math skills.
Responsibilities:
The Intern will help the payroll team with tasks related to the full scope of payroll administration including but not limited to:
Timekeeping
Entering employee information and payroll data into the system
Auditing benefit deductions
Answering employees’ questions and concerns regarding payroll
Assist in processing the organization’s semi-monthly payroll
Maintaining and updating payroll records
Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in accounting or related field
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
Basic Excel
Ability to work with a Team
Learning Goals
Gain an understanding of payroll, corporate operations, team work, and seeing projects through to completion
Gain industry experience, robust knowledge of payroll processes and procedures, an education in telecom, and an understanding of Zayo’s foundational role in broadband
Strengthen critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
Gain an understanding of Salesforce and Workday
Exposure to a variety of networking opportunities
