The Operations Strategic Support Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from technologies and investments to supply chain, manufacturing and test operations, facilities management, and information technology services.
The Ball Aerospace Internship Program is a 10-week summer program that provides interns with practical experience working on relevant projects while working with designated mentors; access to state-of-the-art equipment; a competitive wage; relocation reimbursement; in-house training; group activities; possible future employment and the ability to participate in the Ball Aerospace Remote Sensing Team (BIRST) program to build and launch a rocket or high-altitude balloon. At the conclusion of your internship, you will be required to prepare and deliver a formal presentation of your project work to your respective department.
Administrative Intern – Material Quality Assurance
The Material Quality Assurance (MQA) team is a critical piece of the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) value stream, where we ensure that supplier parts meet all requirements and where we reduce risk to our programs. The MQA Administrative Intern is a new position within MQA, as we focus on driving process improvements and key project completions. This position will have a direct impact on our operations and will help the MQA Management shape the future of the organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Co-lead a project where you review a current MQA process, identify gaps, and offer potential solutions to improve efficiencies and eliminate waste
- Assist MQA team with ongoing special projects focused on process improvements
- You will get exposure to various other supply chain functions, including quality engineering, compliance, procurement, etc.
- Prepare final project presentation through completion of a written document (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and verbal presentation to Management
- Develop and maintain required documentation in accordance with Ball Aerospace policies and government regulations.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- Must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be enrolled in a degree program for the fall of 2022. We will also accept students enrolled in a post graduate program.
- Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to work in a team setting, coordinating group initiatives in order to bring a project to completion.
- Must have a positive attitude and be willing to take initiative.

- Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $16.25 - $21.85 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
