Eligibility
The Legal Intern position is open to all current and graduated law school students. All internships are paid, full-time work experiences. All internships are from June 7 - August 13, 2021 (*start date flexible to academic obligations).
Position Description
The Legal and Financial Planning and Analysis Intern will be primarily responsible for special projects revolving around legal disputes, expense reduction efforts, and repair recovery damage collections. An effective intern will successfully impact Zayo’s Central Region's EBITDA by finding and executing against expense reduction items and bringing in cash collections, and will gain exposure in customer deal negotiations and contract term reviews.
Responsibilities
Review contracts for expense reductions, renewals, etc.
Assist in handling legal disputes with customers and third parties (i.e. repair recovery collections)
Manage overflow of legal support on smaller deals, commercial contracting
Work on training decks
General legal and finance support
Assist with network damage collections and cost optimization projects
Qualifications
JD candidate with an interest/degree in Finance
Self-starter who takes initiative
Ability to quickly learn systems and industry background to achieve efficient results
Learning Outcomes
Gain broad legal experience including contract negotiation, management, and disputes
Gain industry experience, robust knowledge of HR processes and procedures, an education in telecom, and understanding of Zayo’s foundational role in broadband
Strengthen critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills
Gain an expertise understanding of Salesforce and Workday
Exposure to a variety of networking opportunities

Internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid positions with many converting into full-time/part-time employment pending a successful internship.
Pay: $18/hour (Undergraduate), $25/hour (Graduate)
