Eligibility
All internships are paid, full-time work experiences. The Zayo internship program begins on June 7* and formally ends on August 13*, 2021 (*start/end date flexible to academic obligations).
Position Description
Interns studying finance and/or accounting are encouraged to apply! Interns will work on a variety of strategic projects and work cross functionally to complete work related to penetrating Zayo’s existing markets, sweating Zayo’s assets, and/or Zayo data integrity.
Projects may include but are not limited to: reconciling accounts; process implementations and improvements; and identifying key customers.
Responsibilities
Work with field technicians to install fiber optic equipment
Work with core engineering team to decipher route spectral analysis and opportunities for network growth
Monitor and purchase inventory
Review capital projects
Initiate shipping orders
Work through large migration projects
Qualifications
Studying Finance, Economics, Accounting or related degree
Possess basic modeling skills and understanding of earning supplements
Experience analyzing financial information and data to derive insights for business improvements a plus
Experience with Salesforce or OneStream a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required; G Suite products a plus
Extreme attention to detail with a keen eye on accuracy
Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and turn information into reports
Must be flexible and able to deal with a number of variables in dynamic situations
Ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively, with excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent communicator; willing to write to, speak to, and communicate with all levels and across functions of the organization
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Ability to view issues and concerns from multiple perspectives, and to keep the “big picture” in focus
Strong sense of teamwork highly desired
High energy individual with strong work ethic and ability to multitask
Must be a self-motivator
