The work we do will form the basis of a summer internship opportunity for you here at DAT’s Denver headquarters, newly-opened in 2020. DAT’s co-headquarters are in Beaverton, OR, and we have additional satellite offices in Missouri, Texas, and Bangalore, India.)

Summer Internship Experience

DAT is looking for a rising or graduating Senior to spend the summer with our amazing engineering team in Denver. We’re seeking a CU Buff student who’s looking for an opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic and complex engineering space, and to contribute to projects that actually see the light of day.

This internship opportunity will primarily be with our Software Engineering team in Denver, but will feature additional rotations through our Product and Data Science teams. You’ll have a chance to see how the DAT business runs from these other angles, while sharpening your skills and getting real world experience.

Our work culture means increased access. We have the resources of our Fortune 1000 parent company, but are just 500 employees, ourselves, which means we're agile and work closely with our colleagues cross-departmentally!

Candidate Profile

• Capable, motivated student with proven success in tackling computer science problems
• Thorough understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Experience in one or more of the following Object Oriented Programming languages: C++, C#, Java, Kotlin, or Typescript
• Experience in one or more of the following Functional Programming languages: JavaScript or Python
• Understanding of Front End frameworks such as Angular and React
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and DOM events
• Experience working within and across teams to bring projects to life
• Willingness to learn and employ new technologies and techniques such as Agile.
• Prior professional experience working in computer science preferred, but not required

What you’ll do

• Work with our Engineering team in person in Denver (or remotely, pending pandemic guidelines) and work remotely with Portland teams.
• You’ll rotate through Data Science and Product teams to see how those functional areas interface with Engineering to ultimately produce the solutions we push to market.

Full-time Employment Opportunity

This is a paid, 40 hr./week role for the summer, but the intention is to make an offer for full-time employment to the right candidate after the internship program ends, and according to the school’s guidelines for offer timing. (While the offer would be made either at the end of the internship or in the fall, the start date would be upon the student’s graduation.)
