The Operations Strategic Support Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from technologies and investments to supply chain, manufacturing and test operations, facilities management, and information technology services.
The Ball Aerospace Internship Program is a 10-week summer program that provides interns with practical experience working on relevant projects while working with designated mentors; access to state-of-the-art equipment; a competitive wage; relocation reimbursement; in-house training; group activities; possible future employment and the ability to participate in the Ball Aerospace Remote Sensing Team (BIRST) program to build and launch a rocket or high-altitude balloon. At the conclusion of your internship, you will be required to prepare and deliver a formal presentation of your project work to your respective department.
Intern - Business Area Supply Chain Analyst
This person, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Program Lead (SCPL) for National Defense, will learn the role of the Material Control Analyst (MCA) while gaining exposure to the SCPL responsibilities. As an MCA representing supply chain, you will ensure a strong link between various supply chain functions, including planning, subcontracts/procurement, quality, inventory management and logistics. The MCA is responsible for the tactical development and execution of a program’s (or set of programs) material needs, starting at program kickoff and ending when all material is positioned and ready for use by the programs. While working alongside the SCPL, this role will provide opportunity to support proposal activities, revenue planning and tracking, and risk mitigation as it pertains to supply chain performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Execute, monitor, and maintain changes to the manufacturing product structure in the MRP system.
- Analyze lead times and identify critical path procurements.
- Identify and mitigate program risks as they pertain to material requirements.
- Drive data-based decision making.
- Partner with key program stakeholders and develop strong program relationships to encourage accountability.
- Collaborate with supply chain functions for support as needed.
- Provide leadership in managing the Material Baseline, with particular focus on:
- Material availability
- Program schedule
- Compliance
- Perform monthly financial tracking activities including updating material sales plans and working with subcontracts/procurement to identify supplier delivery risks.
- Support proposal activities by working with SCPL on development of supply chain inputs.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- Must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be enrolled in a degree program for the fall of 2022. We will also accept students enrolled in a post graduate program.
- Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management or a related degree.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience in Supply Chain fundamentals.
- Adherence to both internal and external compliance regulations.
- Ability to analyze complex data, determine trends, and provide guidance preferred.
- Ability to make independent decisions, be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and team player.

Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $16.25 - $21.85 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
