The Zayo internship program is open to current students, graduating seniors and graduate students. All internships are paid, full-time work experiences. All internships are from June 7* - August 13, 2021 (*start date flexible to academic obligations).
The Application Developer Intern will be assisting in the development of core business functionality, primarily on the Salesforce platform. The intern will also be working to convert Zayo users to the Lightning framework in Salesforce by assisting with the creation of new tools for a more intuitive user experience. It is essential that the individual is a self starter comfortable working in a team environment, but able to drive forward on projects independently.
Create backend business logic and front end tools
Improve existing functionality
Gather requirements and engage in testing with users, iterate on feedback
Develop proof of concepts
Produce deliverable applications
Help develop and modify applications that will increase efficiency for business users across all of Zayo
Studying/degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering
Java, C++, or other object-oriented programming language
SQL or other knowledge of relational databases
Knowledge in Salesforce a plus (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, Aura)
Understand the process of developing business applications in Salesforce
Practice object oriented programming principles and gathering requirements from users
Experience developing software applications in a real-world environment
Gain an understanding of Salesforce by developing on the Salesforce platform
Gain industry experience, an education in telecom, and understanding of Zayo’s foundational role in broadband
Strengthen critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and communication skills
Exposure to a variety of networking opportunities
