Position at Funding Circle US
Funding Circle US is seeking a passionate and highly motivated undergraduate or graduate-level intern to join our 10-week summer internship class on our US Finance team. Our Finance team are a team of professionals that provide financial analysis and transaction processing, and execute control functions that help optimize business performance.
The Finance function reports to the Global Chief Financial Officer, with dotted line reporting to the US Managing Director.
Birds-eye view of the role:
We are looking for an intern to assist with projects that are designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial processes, and provide valuable insights into financial and business operations.
In this role you will...
- Help with analysis of major vendor spending, including providing insights into how that information can be leveraged to save costs
- Reconcile transaction data between our accounting system, expense payment system and banking records to identify and resolve exceptions.
- Assist with implementation in the US of the Global Procure to Pay (P2P) initiative, designed to make purchasing and paying for goods and services more efficient and better controlled.
- Work closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to streamline our process for forecasting revenue and expense for the US business.
- Present findings and recommendations from the project to senior management at the end of the internship
- You would work on the day to day tasks and additional projects in the Finance area under the close oversight of a mentor
- The role will require coordination cross-functionally with other departments to research and implement solutions.
You’ve been there done this…
- Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an Accounting for Finance related field from an accredited college or university and will graduate between May 2020 - August 2022
- Proficient with analytical tools, particularly Excel
- Excellent ability to translate complex problems into clear and simple stories
- Strong track record of leadership and accountability
- Proactive personality with the ability to work across different teams
- Enthusiasm for a fast-paced, team-oriented, start-up environment with demanding expectations
- Ability to multi-task and manage time independently
