Eligibility
The Zayo internship program is open to graduating seniors and current students. All internships are paid, full-time work experiences. All internships are from June 3* - August 9, 2019 (*start date flexible to academic obligations).
Position Description
This role will support the Ethernet Product Management team. The candidate will join the Ethernet Product Management team in support of growing and sustaining a successful Ethernet business. Product management is responsible for delivering top and bottom line results. The Ethernet Product Intern will assist with various projects, focusing on a Churn Mitigation Project (strategic renewal of contracts) as well as participating in projects focusing on: Data Analysis, SalesForce Data Integrity, Pricing/Deal Economics, and Process Improvement/Automation Projects.
Responsibilities
Responsible for business analysis and resulting recommendations, including: exporting data from SalesForce, data analysis, resulting business recommendations, executing on projects/strategies
Requirements gathering, use-case development, and definition of product vision and strategy
Becoming the expert in your product realm as well as key evangelist internally and externally
Responsible for communicating with product team as well as cross-functionally with sales and service delivery/engineering
Quick transitions between tactical execution and strategic thinking
Develop effective processes and improve current processes
Qualifications
Studying/degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Experiences demonstrating ability to independently solve complex problems, work on a team, work hard in the face of obstacles or pressure
Experience analyzing data to derive insights to improve the business; experience using finance to determine whether a project is viable (NPV, IRR, etc)
Independent, self-starter with ability to effectively prioritize competing deliverables and multitask
Ability to view issues and concerns from multiple perspectives, and to keep the “big picture” in focus
Ability to be flexible in work schedule and to meet strict deadlines under minimal supervision
Proficiency in MS Office suite with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Salesforce.com platform is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and customers
