Dumpster Market is a new e-commerce startup that aims to revolutionize the way waste services are procured nationally. We efficiently connect consumers of dumpsters and other waste and recycling services with providers in a marketplace.  The company was founded by two Boston-based technologists and Laurel Mountain Partners (www.laurelmountain.com), a leader in the environmental business arena for the last 30 years. We have two primary efforts: first, we provide a marketplace for haulers and consumers—much like Expedia or Priceline but for dumpster rentals.  Second, we supply our online ordering system to haulers, enabling customers to process orders instantly from their website.  We have begun rolling out our Dumpster Market Online Ordering System (Da Moose) and aim to reach out to the nation’s 7,000 haulers this summer.

This is a great opportunity for highly self-motivated students that are looking for a hands-on learning experience in a rapidly growing start-up environment. Our interns have the opportunity to have hands-on experience in Business Development and Inbound Marketing & Content Development. We aim for our interns to come out of the summer with a set of new skills and a story to tell when facing their future employment opportunities. 

Business Development Role:

Dumpster Market is a rapidly expanding company aiming to reach over 7000 nationwide dumpster providers this summer. This position will be a hands-on commision based sales experience that will provide you with invaluable skills that translate to any Business Development Representative role. 

Experience

• Sales Calls 
• HubSpot Customer Relationship Management 
• New customer sign-up 
• Set up and configuring of customer accounts
• Basic customer service 

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, ppt)
• Patience in communicating technology to persons with minimal tech understanding (I.E. Your mom and dad) 

Inbound Marketing & Content Development Role:

Through our website & blog, we aim to provide education on recycling and other important environmental issues. Our interns will be assigned a project to research and develop topics, articles, and resource guides to help consumers better manage their waste & recycling. This research will have both a local and a national focus. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual with strong writing & communication skills who will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should be comfortable taking direction from other team members, and should also eager to learn about current and emerging trends in content marketing and SEO.
