The Opportunity:
We have a great opportunity for an Integrated Test Bed (ITB) Manger to support the Data Transport Product Support Sustainment Logistics Maintenance (DSLM) Support Contract which provides Level-2 support to Satellite Control Network (SCN). This includes operating and maintaining the ITB which is the lab for the different operational systems within the SCN.
Responsibilities:
· Support ITB operations, maintenance, scheduling, and configuration control.
· Update and maintain Process Familiarization.
· Evaluate ITB Physical Compliance on an on-going basis, assess and update ITB Configuration Compliance, account for Government Furnished Property (GFP) on an on-going basis, maintain the ITB Performance Baseline, support ITB operations, maintenance, scheduling, and configuration control and continually work toward ITB process improvements and efficiencies.
· Provide technical expertise and ensure system security, integration, and governance.
· Establishes and maintains user accounts, assigns file permissions, and establishes password and account policies.
· Installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains, and supports operating system software in a sustainment and development environment.
· Responsible for resolving IT hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures.
· Responsible for system security and data integrity.
· Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage, and network connectivity.
· Supports new infrastructure projects.
· Maintains all configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure.
· Equipment custodian responsibility including COMSEC.
· Reviews performance logs and monitors system performance.
· Troubleshoots and resolves basic level system hardware, software, and communications problems; may perform configurations and adjustments to enhance database file capacity; performs automated and manual backup and restore processes.
· Installs, configures, and tests software packages.
· Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
· Performs backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
· Completion of periodic maintenance instructions on the different systems residing within the AFSCN Test Bed in accordance with applicable Technical Orders.
· Delegate and participate in Network Engineering, System Administration, System Architecture, and Operations of various equipment.
· Lead weekly calls discussing schedules and conflicts with Users and Government customers.
· Review and approve or deny system Temporary Change Notices (TCN) and relay these to the government customer.
· Maintain knowledge of changes in technologies and practices that present risks to or opportunities for the performance and longevity of ITB architecture.
· Study and analyze ITB system and process needs; develop and implement changes as needed to support project integration and baseline development.
· Solve enterprise management system problems related to SolarWinds, LogRhythm, Palo Alto, Active Directory, vSphere, NETAPP, and others.
· Assist in implementing servers and system architecture for virtual machines, physical machines, network devices, applications, and services. Knowledge will need to persist across all ITB segments (RISS, RISS 2, CSSTB, ADMF, Test Manager, Etc.).
· Ensure network design and configuration allow multiple users on multiple projects to access required assets, platforms, and applications within the network.
· Manage the temporary change process to resolve conflicts and ensure proper compatibility, use, monitoring, configuration, documentation, and security of systems.
· Act as Primary custodian to a DPAS account; maintain positive control of assets and documentation for semiannual inventories and audits.
· Act as a COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO); maintain and update secure devices; adhere to strict security guidance.
· Set and maintain a baseline for security policies and configurations within the environment—protecting systems from unauthorized access, increasing cyber security posture as conditions demand, maintaining cognizance of content of software maintenance actions to include changes to OS or applications technologies, and maintaining policies for securing systems from lab-specific obscurities.
· Maintain a sanitized environment to include removing unnecessary snapshots, files, folders, backups, etc.
· Participate in development and management of governance processes.
· Monitor standards compliance, address violations, and manage architectural changes.
· Ensure configurations within the architecture are tracked and controlled and verify baseline releases contain information pertaining to relevant ITB systems.
· Maintain policies for users of the systems to ensure best system integration solutions and shared team usage of the lab’s-controlled systems.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field plus 3 years related work experience.
· Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain an Active Top Secret clearance
· DoD 8140 qualified.
· Experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems and command line knowledge.
· Experience in application administration, configuration, and integration.
· Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare vSphere) and ESX hosts.
· Working knowledge of Cisco and other network device command line interfaces.
· Experience with NETAPP ONTAP storage applications.
· Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership.
· Flexibility with working hours; occasional weekend hours may be required.
· Current CompTIA Security+ or must obtain within 6 months of employment date.
Desired:
· Experience with US Space Force Satellite Control Network (or DoD).
· Experience with the SCN Integrated Test Bed (ITB).
· Experience with information system security best practices and STIGs.
· Proficiency in Active Directory and Domain Name Services (DNS).
· Working knowledge of SEIM tools and other enterprise management services (e.g., LogRhythm, SolarWinds, Tanium).
· ARTS and/or RBC experience desired.
· RF satellite signal theory and troubleshooting skills.
· Understanding of VMWare, NetApp, SolarWinds, VPN configuration, Blade Server support.
· System administration experience to include UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms.
· DCC and WANIU communications and configuration.
· CISCO Router and Switch network configuration and management.
· Understanding configuration of: OSPF, QOS, access control lists, KG-175D and KIV-7M technologies.
· Ability to learn and work with Windows, Linux, and Solaris controlled RF network to support customer requests and questions in compliance with DoD security standards.
