The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for helping leadership align organizational and people capabilities with the business strategy and needs; optimizing the employee experience; building a renowned employer brand; and driving an organizational climate that attracts, develops and retains top talent across all global locations. The successful VP of HR has strong business acumen, has led through high growth, is innovative and strategically minded while supporting the execution of daily operational tactics. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of HR will develop and foster a world-class HR organization that is respected and recognized for exceptional leadership, effectiveness, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive high performance by building an outcome and values focused culture across Convercent’s global workforce (currently US and Europe)
  • Define and implement HR initiatives across the employee journey to drive high employee engagement and retention through onboarding, performance management, learning & development, organizational effectiveness, organizational structure & succession planning, and compensation strategy
  • Strengthen Convercent brand awareness by engaging with local communities, developing strong recruiting strategies, and building a reputation of excellence, opportunity and exceptional employee experiences
  • Collaborate with leadership to build a uniquely diverse company where people feel a profound sense of belonging and Convercent is viewed as a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace
  • Build and lead an HR team that supports the organization and scales the company culture through high growth 
  • Frequently engage with leadership and staff to ensure alignment of HR vision and initiatives with dynamic people, culture, and business needs. Includes a focus on organizational design, workforce planning and leadership development
  • Implement competitive employee compensation and benefit plans that attract, retain and reward top talent. Includes developing company-wide leveling and career development systems that foster productivity and fairness
  • Collect, monitor and report on key metrics such as, staff turnover, employee NPS, time to hire, cost per hire, and overall employee engagement
  • Establish trust and credibility across the organization by understanding the company culture, proactively engaging with teammates, being aware of business objectives and demonstrating partnership
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new employment laws and regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Drive people processes and ensure compliance to global practices and policies for all Convercent employee locations
  • Manage, inspire, and develop direct reports.
  • Partner with Chief Compliance Officer and act as a point of escalation for performance, ethics and compliance related issues in a legally compliant and professional way

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in HR with a minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership position in a VC backed SaaS technology company
  • “Emerging company” experience with revenues 20 million to 100 million and employee growth from 150 - 250
  • Experience working cross-culturally in a global business environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience leading internal recruiting programs for high growth functions including sales and engineering
  • SPHR professional designation preferred
  • Ability to inspire confidence in senior leadership and management teams through timely delivery of information, demonstrating a partnership mentality, and using data to drive strategies
  • Passionate about creating a culture of excellence – elevating everyday work experiences for Convercent employees
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to think strategically, analytically and creatively while executing HR programs with precision
  • Embrace and adopt technologies to optimize initiatives, deliverables and results
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and diligence about quality outcomes
  • Clear communicator with professional presence and the ability to lead through influence
  • Experience developing and measuring KPIs to drive business decisions
