Vice President, Human Resources

The VP will be a key member of the senior leadership team at GHX to ensure alignment of the people, talent vision and the company’s strategy. The role reports to the CEO and is responsible for building and developing a best-in-class human resources function to support business needs and foster strong employee engagement. The right candidate will be an effective influencer whose impact and value is clear to our employees and the leadership team alike. The role requires a true thought leader with an executive presence combined with functional HR expertise.
The successful candidate will be able to function well in a high-growth, fast-paced environment as a trusted advisor. Comfortable with ambiguous situations, they will be able to take a consultative approach to identify and implement people solutions to drive and support our business objectives. They will possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to build solid relationships at every level of the organization. This role demands partnering closely with the executive team, business leaders at all levels, and employees throughout the company. This role functions as a key global business partner and leads the HR team to consistently deliver on strategic initiatives in line with the GHX mission and vision. Responsibilities
- Build the global strategic human resources vision and foster a high-performance culture based on our values: Collaborate, Inspire, Grow and Innovate
- Serve as the primary HR advisor and business partner to senior leadership to drive positive impact in the organization
- Collaborate with cross functional team leads to execute strategy and evaluate the success of initiatives impacting business performance
- Partners extensively and successfully with a wide variety of GHX Teams: Finance, Legal, Operations, Sales etc
- Lead the global HR team as a partner and subject matter expert to ensure alignment to solve business problems and execute on corporate-wide people initiatives
- Understand the business and its challenges in order to address organizational and people needs including org structures and team performance
- Assist with the change process as the company meets the challenges of growth and the need to scale including M&A activity
- Oversee the development and execution of compensation philosophy & practice, performance management, training, employee relations, wellness programs and internal communications
- Work in tandem with the Compensation and Benefits team to identify, develop and provide a competitive total rewards package for GHX employees
- Work with leadership to define, promote and meet annual company goals and objectives by leveraging KPIs, performance review standards and STI metrics
- Implement an effective performance management system and evaluate the current HRIS system for potential change
- Partner with vendors to ensure high quality outcomes for employees and overall company cost benefits including budget management
- Determine the GHX Employer Value Proposition, drive relevant messaging and ensure the day-to-day experience for employees matches
- Gauge internal customer experience with consistent and repeatable customer satisfaction measures and react with relevant practices based on those outcomes
- Balance both business and employees’ needs to influence HR program design and implement strategies, programs, and solutions
- Drive leadership succession planning, champion employee development, develop SPOF identification by supporting best in class organizational development
- Support word-class talent acquisition practices globally including ensuring progressive hiring practices and hire diversity and un-conscious bias awareness and training
- Consult with the business to facilitate a variety of employee interventions such as team building, behaviors workshops, etc.
- Improve manager capabilities through coaching and implementation of management development programs and opportunities
- Manage a high performance culture by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports, providing regular feedback and developing employees for wider roles and responsibilities to foster professional growth and development
- Facilitate and enable collaborations among cross-functional teams globally by demonstrating and living an inclusive leadership style
- Manage potential M&A acquisition data and/or related requests and execute integration plans as needed
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of relevant employment/privacy law and ensure compliance globally
Required Experience
- 10+ years of relevant HR experience, including three plus years at a VP or Director level
- 8+ years management experience leading and developing a team of HR Professionals
- BA/BS in Management, Human Resource, Organizational Development or equivalent
- MBA with a relevant focus, SPHR preferred
- Track record of coaching and influencing for high impact to drive leader effectiveness and business results
- Demonstrated competence in the various HR functional areas, especially employee relations, talent development and change management
- Experience in all relevant HR policies and procedures – IE FLSA, Cobra, EOE etc
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to flex styles depending on the audience
- Demonstrated credibility and integrity in communications to ensure information flows both upward, downward and reads appropriately across the organization
- Critical thinker with success in developing innovative solutions to business issues
- Able to manage multiple complex issues and prioritize projects concurrently
- Able to comfortably move between strategic issues and day-to-day HR operations - willingness to be a “player-coach” type leader and “roll-up the sleeves” to get things done
- Experience leading global teams
- Experience building organizational and talent plans to identify and execute against future talent needs (defining skills needed for the future, succession and development plans)
- Proven experience identifying and leading change and building this capability in team members
- Comprehensive experience with full cycle M&A activity
- Ability to travel up to 25%
