About the Job

The Sr. People Business Partner will provide consultative guidance and coaching to managers and employees on human resources-related matters, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, goals, and objectives. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Serve a trusted strategic partner, advisor and coach to the leaders in the organization regarding their own development and the development of their teams.
  • Advocate for and be an advisor for Sovrn employees.
  • Build strong connections and communication among employees and between the global offices.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues including conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Provide performance management guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Partner closely with leaders and employees to improve relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Apply change management and organizational development strategies to support changing business initiatives. 
  • Analyze people data and trends to inform decisions on strategy, programs and policies.
  • Partner with the People Team to develop programs that continually elevate the organization.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and partner with legal as needed.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Advise on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.

The successful candidate will have: 

  • 6+ years of experience as an HR business partner, resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Experience partnering with and influencing senior leaders to help drive strategy and increase business results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage complex relationships and difficult conversations.
  • Proven track record of identifying people issues and using strategic skills to drive and influence appropriate solutions.
  • Experience with Google suite, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and managing priorities.
  • Experience navigating or managing employment law in multiple regions.
  • Track record of using metrics and analytics to make data-informed decisions. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Points

  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
  • Experience in a technology-based growth company preferred
  • Knowledge of the online publishing (media) industry.

Compensation and Benefits

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate compensation range for this role in Boulder, Colorado is $90,000 to $120,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. Sovrn offers a full slate of benefits from competitive salaries, stock options, medical, dental and vision coverage, short and long term disability, life insurance, 11 paid holidays, flexible vacation, commuter benefits, a 401(k) plan and match, and a paid parental leave program.
