Sr Manager, Talent Acquisition

DigitalGlobe is a made up of a very talented workforce and the Talent Acquisition function is at the forefront in helping to attract, identify and recruit new team members to join our dynamic and growing organization. The Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition will implement effective recruitment strategies and processes that will attract top talent in support of DigitalGlobe’s business objectives and shall establish an excellent candidate experience, both in the US and in our global locations. The successful candidate will be able to drive initiatives forward to completion with quality, speed and velocity as well as lead a team of talent acquisition professionals in the pursuit of these goals. This role will report to the Vice President of Human Resources and partner closely with the Maxar Technologies corporate talent acquisition function.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a best in class, scalable recruiting function to support the company’s business objectives.
  • Integrate DigitalGlobe’s Purpose, Vision and Values to ensure that hiring and selection processes yield talented, high performing candidates.
  • Provides mentorship, guidance, and career development to the Talent Acquisition team with the focus of being consultative and strategic to the business while raising the bar of recruiting performance.
  • Responsible for establishing the organization as an employer of choice in the marketplace.
  • Deploys enterprise contingent hiring strategies and works with the HR business partners to optimize the use of the various types of resources.
  • Implement and ensures success of diversity, college recruiting, employee referrals and intern programs.
  • Ensures Hiring Managers and team member interviewers are trained on effective interview techniques and are knowledgeable about what questions are appropriate and compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Act as the Workday applicant tracking system subject matter expert for DigitalGlobe.
  • Partners with Maxar Technologies corporate TA shared service to determine brand, company career site and candidate experience for DigitalGlobe.
  • Develops partnerships with the HR Business partners to understand the recruitment and workforce planning needs within the organization working closely with them to establish key relationships with business leaders.
  • Partners with the VP of HR, manages the Talent Acquisition budget, and ensures effective administration of relocation policies and programs.
  • Approves requisitions and offers in accordance with standard practices and in collaboration with the HR and Finance business partners.
  • Develops and manages metrics to measure growth and performance of the team.
  • Leads continuous measurement and improvement of the DG recruitment process through recruiting metric collection, analysis and goal setting.
  • Responsible for adherence to laws, regulations and standards including OFCCP and equal employment opportunity regulations.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
  • A passion for talent acquisition, with a minimum of 8 years of recruitment experience with at least 2 years managing a team.
  • US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional client relationship skills and demonstrated experience developing consultative relationships with leaders and HR peers at all levels.
  • Business and quantitative acumen, using data to drive effectiveness in the talent acquisition process and metrics.
  • A leadership approach that is about enabling the team’s success and a demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally, collaborating with the HR leadership team
  • Strong project management/organizational skills with strong attention to detail, people, systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with specialized sourcing strategies to proactively build candidate pipelines that generate sufficient quantity and quality to meet business requirements in a cost effective manner.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to discern scalable talent.
  • Adjusts easily to change, learns quickly, and understands how internal and external factors impact decisions.
  • Compelling interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability to cultivate a visible and positive presence with DG team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated command of all steps in the full life cycle of recruiting.
  • Adjusts easily to change, learns quickly, and understands how internal and external factors impact decisions.
  • A strong understanding of current hiring related employment regulations and compliance issues, including OFCCP.
  • Experience with Workday for Recruitment as an ATS.
  • Corporate talent acquisition experience strongly preferred over agency experience.
  • Experience with government contract hiring and the supporting laws and practices.
  • An understanding and experience with international employment laws and contractual requirements representative of our non-US locations.
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis as needed.
