Job Summary

NetApp is in the process of transforming its human resources function to effectively support the needs of the business.

 

Reporting directly to the VP Human Resources, Product Business Unit, this newly created Senior Director of Human Resources will be responsible for providing strategic HR leadership support to the Business Unit executive leaders and their teams to achieve targeted business results.  

 

Specifically, the Senior Director of HR will be responsible for:

 

  • Acting as a trusted advisor, thoughtful sounding board and business partner for business leaders, functioning as the expert on people and organizational issues.
  • Creating and executing people-related strategies tied to the business’ strategies and needs, ensuring talent implications are effectively identified and addressed
  • Executing effective talent management strategies across the corporate functions, with primary emphasis on recruiting, performance management, succession planning, employee development, engagement and retention
  • Strengthening organizational design and effectiveness
  • Championing diversity and inclusion efforts, ensuring the business has the breadth of talent necessary to achieve its growth plans
  • Championing the NetApp culture, driving an environment of engagement, open communication, and high ethical standards

 

Job Requirements

The Senior Director will be a broad-based business-person with strategic insight and proven, in-depth experience supporting the corporate functions from a people perspective. This leader will be a collaborative, change agent and results-oriented executive. He/She will be an excellent manager with strong business acumen and will have a sound background working as a strategic human resources business partner.  Against that background, the individual we seek will have:

 

A minimum of 10+ years of HR experience in progressive HR business partner roles, including functional leadership at the divisional level for a growth-oriented technology organization

  • Strong ability to work outside traditional functional silos and build relationships across the organization at all levels, particularly with C suite executives and senior business leaders
  • Broad-based HR generalist, with expertise in executing talent management strategies to drive key business outcomes
  • Strategic and innovative thinker
  • Results-oriented, motivated leader who consistently operates at a very high energy level
  • Proactively owns initiatives with the ability to navigate around obstacles and persevere through setbacks
  • Innovative and creative with a strong mindset for continuous improvement
  • Excellent communicator both oral and written, with an ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner
  • Adept at leading through influence across all levels of the organization

Education

Bachelor’s degree

Master’s in human resources or Business Administration highly desirable

Minimum of 10+ years of HR experience in progressive HR business partner roles, including functional leadership at the divisional level for a growth-oriented technology organization
