As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you’ll do more than just read resumes— you’ll serve as a community builder, shepherding passionate technologists to a place for them to do career-defining work unlocking the human genome. You'll become a student of consumer genomics, learning from Helix's own experts in the field as well as your own research inspired by an insatiable appetite for knowledge. As Senior Technical Recruiter, you will:

  • Drive the end to end recruitment process, from sourcing to offer creation and delivery.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and leadership to deeply understand their teams and hiring needs while making hiring recommendations, support events, and build strategy to hire amazing people for Helix
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience. One more time for the folks in the back, with some oomph— deliver an *exceptional* candidate experience
  • Build a deep talent pipeline through research and sourcing for passive candidates
  • Identify new ways to build awareness of Helix in new hiring markets, focusing on inclusive recruiting practices
  • Act as an evangelist for Helix's mission, generating enthusiasm within candidates who are considering Helix as their next career move
  • Provide status reports and performance data to share with internal stakeholders, influencing the recruitment strategy along the way
  • Lead alignment meetings, facilitate debrief sessions and drive the interview process to close
  • Assist with technical hiring initiatives in the Bay Area

Required background:

  • 5+ years of experience recruiting for technical teams implementing modern technology including (but not limited to) the following languages, frameworks, and services: Golang, Java, SQL, Python, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, React/Redux, AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
  • Extensive Technical Recruiting experience, preferably in a high growth environment supporting multiple technical hiring teams
  • Stellar organizational skills that allow you to balance multiple roles, candidates and priorities
  • Advanced sourcing and search strategy expertise.
  • A data-driven approach to candidate tracking and funnel metrics, influencing recruitment strategy and outcomes
  • Passion for connecting with people, both within and externally
  • BA or BS degree; advanced degree optional

  • Prior experience hiring for technical talent at quickly scaling, high-growth startups
  • An uncanny ability to move nimbly with the changing needs of a fast growing start-up

  • Technology knowledge – we don’t expect you to be able to code, but need you to have proficiency in different coding languages and technical stacks
  • An affinity for building relationships, both inside and outside of the organization
  • Candidate-closing ability that would put Harvey Specter to shame
  • Crisp, conversational competencies, capable of captivating curious crowds
  • A passion for technology with an insatiable curiosity for bleeding edge advancements
  • Poise under pressure, but a sense of humor at all times
