The Senior Compensation Manager is responsible for leading the compensation function and partnering with leaders and other stakeholders; provides compensation analysis and recommendations; assists with Executive compensation and equity planning. This role will have the opportunity to build out and manage a team as the organization grows.
How You'll Do It
Serve as the Compensation Partner to deliver strategic compensation support to the organization

    • Provide consultation and advice to leaders and People Partners regarding compensation strategy, programs, and communications.
    • Partner with People Partners and Talent Acquisition for all compensation activities related to their functions.
    • Assist with ad-hoc requests and reporting needs.


Compensation analysis

    • Prepare and analyze proposed salary adjustments based on market review.
    • Partner with appropriate team members on salary recommendations, internal transfers, off-cycle increases, and promotions.
    • Participate in Market Pricing activities to review compensation surveys and ensure Pie is remaining competitive with its salaries.


Own job architecture

    • Prepare and/or review job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties, and requirements and recommend appropriate alignment within our job architecture.
    • Assist in maintaining systems to ensure accuracy of compensation data, job profiles, bonus targets, equity, etc.


Assist with high level compensation strategy

    • Partner with external consultants on executive compensation practices. reviews, and recommendations.
    • Assist with equity strategy, planning, and execution.


The Right Stuff

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with some college coursework is preferred.
    • A minimum of 5-years compensation analysis experience is required.
    • A minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership role is required.
    • Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations is required.
    • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and certified compensation professional credentials preferred.
    • Advanced communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, to deliver complex information effectively and align people with the needs of the project/team.
    • Advanced problem solving skills, to be able to manage complex situations with multiple layers, and resolve to solution anticipating needs now and into the future.
    • Advanced awareness of workflow, and project tradeoffs to make decisions based on needs now and into the future.
    • Advanced leadership skills with experience leading large or technical teams through complex deliverables.
    • G-Suite Tools, Collaboration tools (Slack is preferred).
    • Excel, HRIS (BambooHR; WD), comp tools highly preferred.

Base compensation range for position: $152,000 - $198,500
Each year Pie reviews company performance and may grant discretionary bonuses to eligible team members.

This role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver or DC office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States*, and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
