Guild is one of Denver’s fastest growing startups - increasing economic mobility for working adults in America, providing education and support to help every student survive and thrive in the economy of tomorrow. Our education benefits platform helps employers offer education as a benefit to their employees, and our network of nonprofit universities and education institutions helps provide every Guild student with the right academic pathway to advance their education and career. In order to achieve our mission to serve 1000s more students and accelerate our growth, we recently raised a $21M Series B round with top tier investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Social Capital, Harrison Metal, and Cowboy Ventures. We’re looking to hire a People Ops (HR) Coordinator to support our growing team.

As Guild’s People Ops Coordinator, you will support efforts to build and maintain an efficient, high-touch, human focused HR organization. You’ll learn about our business and departments while having a direct impact on current and future employees at every level of the company.

A day in our open, collaborative workspace will look a little like this:

  • Supporting the VP of People on all HR-related functions including benefits, onboarding, payroll, and employee relations
  • Owning HR administrative activities including record-keeping, file maintenance, and entering information in our HRIS
  • Administering health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Processing documents through payroll and insurance providers
  • Optimizing current HR processes and looking for new ways to make them more efficient
  • Maintaining and organizing compliance documents and information

In this role, you’ll grow and expand your expertise by:

  • Learning the ins and outs of Guild as you use your organizational, multitasking, and problem solving skills in a fast-paced, intense, and dynamic environment
  • Implementing new innovative practices to streamline our HR processes
  • Developing strong relationships with the Guild team and external benefits providers

You’ll know if you’re successful by:

  • Effectively acting as the primary point of contact for Guild employees’ questions related to benefits, payroll, compensation, and other HR related matters
  • Achieving established OKRs and expectations while demonstrating your passion for our mission – you'll receive ongoing feedback through your 1:1 meetings and go through bi-annual Structured Growth Conversations
  • Bringing enthusiasm, flexibility, and patience to the role to a fast-paced, fun, and collaborative environment

You’ll join a team:

  • Focused on our double-bottom-line mission of changing higher ed for working adults and building a successful startup in Denver
  • From diverse backgrounds – from traditional higher education, to athletic coaches, to politicians, to startup leaders (and more!)
  • Committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment that you’d support every day

What you’ll add to Guild as an individual and part of the broader team:

  • Passion for our mission – Guild is pioneering a new path for education as a benefit in a complicated and regulated space – success means quickly and effectively adapting your expertise
  • 2+ years of experience in similar or related HR roles
  • Experience with an HRIS system
  • Familiarity with tools like Excel, Gmail, Google docs, and Google Sheets
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience handling highly sensitive/confidential matters and a good sense of judgment
  • Experience in a startup or similar fast-paced environment where there is frequent change and a need to demonstrate and act with a sense of urgency
  • A growth-oriented mindset reinforced by your enthusiasm for rapid iteration and prototyping
  • A drive to work hard and a plan for how you can refresh and recharge while working in a startup
  • Something else? Wonderful, we’re curious to learn more about you!
