We are seeking a People Business Partner to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
What you get to do:

  • Anticipate potential issues and needs and proactively shape talent priorities to align to business strategy. Work with senior leadership to develop and implement HR plans and solutions in order to achieve strategic business initiatives and deliver results in line with our company values.
  • Partner with the leadership team to assess, design and deliver solutions needed to optimize talent and enhance effectiveness including workforce planning, compensation, succession planning and performance management.
  • Develop a deep understanding of your business units including what drives profitability., their situations/challenges, and, most importantly, their needs to better develop mutually defined solutions to problems,
  • Actively partner, coach & develop leadership team members, managers, and individuals.
  • Monitor the "pulse" of employees and develop and execute initiatives to ensure a high level of employee engagement and a positive employee experience.
  • Be the "go-to" person for employee-related questions for teams on just about anything including local office policies, procedures, systems, benefits, compensation, leaves of absence, etc.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations when needed.
  • Manage and lead internal communications to teams to ensure understanding and buy-in.
  • Partner with broader People team colleagues across Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and Organizational Development to ensure employee and leadership needs are met and high-performing teams are sustained.
  • Builds and maintains close working relationships with Finance, Legal, IT, etc. to leverage their support in executing HR strategy and business operations.
  • Assist with on-boarding new staff, particularly leadership, and acquainting them with the company practices, culture, and business.
  • Maintain positive relationships with managers and employees to promote our culture of open communication.
  • Develop strategic relationships with external recruiting sources
  • Appropriately escalate issues, as needed, to People team leadership and/or Executive team.
  • Exerts influence to create positive change and proactively mitigate/resolve employees issues.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as the job and company evolve

What you will contribute:
As a People Business Partner, you will play a key role in helping our leaders think strategically: helping to assess needs & develop solutions in areas such as workforce planning, organizational design, performance management, employee relations, compensation, retention, and career development. You must understand business priorities and translate them into a plan that supports our rapidly growing business, unique culture, and company values. This position supports all office and remote employees in the U.S., Canada, and India.
What you bring to Uplight:

  • Five or more years of People Business Partner experience in high growth and fast-paced tech environments
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiar with HRIS systems

Salary Range: $95,000 to $105,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
