Manager, Human Resources - IT
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Software Development and Information Technology ("SDIT") Human Resources is part of a team of HR professionals supporting the Charter SDIT department comprised of over 2,000 employees. This role serves as an HR Business Partner to IT functional groups to support and implement effective strategies to achieve organizational objectives. The manager combines HR mastery and industry knowledge to appropriately evaluate and resolve complex HR issues within a fast paced and changing business environment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide full cycle HRBP support to assigned SDIT client groups, focused on people-initiatives that drive successful achievement of business objectives.
Talent
- In collaboration with the business leaders, recruiting, and compensation teams, develop offers of employment and strategize on incoming talent.
- In partnership with Legal, ensure immigration processes are adhered to include conferring with leadership on necessary costs and steps.
- In partnership with business leaders and corporate HR, support the successful onboarding of new employees including facilitation of new employee orientation and manager onboarding
- Oversee talent workforce planning initiatives in accordance with stated business objectives to proactively manage assigned departmental headcount
- Participate in the annual talent 9-box process to identify high potential, high performing contributors for use in succession and development planning
- Support career pathing programs to positively influence talent retention
Culture
- Partner with business leaders to implement employee engagement initiatives including but not limited to employee insight survey action planning, leadership training, and team building
- Leverage the Charter rewards and recognition program for meaningful employee appreciation
- Provide input to business and HR leaders for candidate nominations to participate in internal and external development programs
- Conduct and organize outside events held at location in coordination with HR Centers of Excellence.
Capability
- Support and implement annual development planning in conjunction with succession planning
- Implement the performance management program, partnering with leaders to deliver meaningful feedback within a pay for performance methodology
- Partner with business leaders and corporate HR to initiate organizational re-structuring as IT departments evolve
- Oversee the corrective action process for performance outliers
Risk
- Ensure legal compliance with all applicable local state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA and ADA to minimize risk/exposure to the company
- Oversee all aspects of employee relations; ensure Company policies are administered fairly and consistently
- Ensure that all programs are administered in compliance with all necessary employment statutes including but not limited to EEO, FCC and Affirmative Action
- Conduct employee investigations and oversee all escalated employee issues.
- Establish local procedures to ensure compliance with Company and regulatory agency requirements
- Monitor processes and ensure accurate maintenance of HRIS database
- Review and oversee unemployment and workers compensation claims
- Oversee safety programs and follow company procedures for drug testing
- Perform other duties as required

Education
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or organizational behavior or related field or equivalent experience
Related Work Experience
5+ years Human Resource Generalist experience in a multi-location environment
2+ years supervisory experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in human resources, business, or organizational behavior or related field
Certifications for Human Resource Professionals (PHR, SPHR)
Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within company required standards

The pay for this position has a minimum of $85,900.00. The actual salary offer may be higher as we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
