Position Description
The Manager, Career Development will design and execute an Acceleration Path for new employees with 0-3 years of experience in three pillars at Zayo: Technology & Engineering, Corporate & Finance, and Sales and Marketing. The role will focus on developing a program where employees can build a foundation to accelerate their career by providing them with valuable industry specific skills while cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit at Zayo. It will include identifying high potential candidates, evolving talent profiles and paths, competency tracking, employee role selections, mentoring, utilizing analytics to evaluate, measure and improve the program, and designing, managing, and delivering effective training that drives business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Manage selection “interview” process for the Career Accelerator Pathways (CAP) program.
- Develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates for the CAP Program.
- Drive, design, and deliver framework that includes focus on the Zayo Way, the telecom industry, educational panels, and industry specific skills.
- Develop core competencies, talent profiles, career paths, and active learning assignments to assist with creating a career advancement plan.
- Identify current and future critical skills and knowledge gaps and creates opportunities for development to bridge those gaps.
- Create content and effectively deliver and present training.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on content and presentations.
- Evaluate program, analyze existing talent data and work to develop methodology to analyze data and continuously enhance and evolve strategy.
- Benchmark and collect data on best practices for career development and training programs.
- Design and implement surveys and other measurement tools to collect strong feedback.
- Use data to create comprehensive reports and executive readouts to track success of programs.
- Participate in the design and delivery of talent management, organizational development, performance management, and leadership development initiatives outside of career accelerator program as needed to ensure organizational objectives are being met.
- Encourage diversity of thought and integrate diversity and inclusion strategies throughout learning and development activities.
- Work with Workday team on implementing talent module to help track talent programs
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in training/learning and development, human resources, organization development or similar role.
- Ability to collaborate and bring diverse thought to our community-driven learning culture.
- Ability to develop integrated training solutions from inception to post-delivery assessment.
- Strong facilitation/presenter skills applicable across various training/development approaches.
- Proficiency in Google or MS Office suite of tools with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoints, & Google Docs is required.
- Knowledge of Salesforce platform is a plus.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, e-learning platforms.
- Successful track record creating, implementing, and managing learning and development materials and programs.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve while dealing with variable dynamic situations.
- Strong critical thinking, adaptability to change, analytical, strategic, collaborative, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate, build relationships, and manage well at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, balance and respond to competing priorities and see priorities through from inception through completion.
- Constant talking, hearing, and prolonged standing, walking, and/or sitting in front of a computer.
- Occasional driving required to other Colorado locations and travel to locations outside of Colorado.
