Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources Manager will partner closely with management and senior leadership to support and align the business operations and the HR practices for a business unit(s) within a geographic region. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for employee relations, maintaining an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance of any and all applicable employment laws within their assigned market(s).
Essential Functions:
- Support leadership with human resource planning and decision making related to people and the business
- Provide feedback and counsel to managers and supervisors on employee concerns, performance improvement plans and discipline
- Conduct end to end internal investigations; prepare thorough summation of findings and recommendations on outcomes
- Work with internal HR partners including Benefits, Payroll, and HRIS
- Support and develop various HR initiatives
- Advise and train managers and supervisors in strategies for supporting and managing people
- Collaborate with leadership on matters of policy and practice
- Collaborate with legal counsel as appropriate

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable employment law, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
- Thorough understanding of dispute resolution
- Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations
- Ability to work on multiple concerns simultaneously, excellent time management skills
- Knowledgeable in Excel and other MS Office software, Google Docs

Required or Preferred Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
Required or Preferred Experience
- 3 (three) years of HR Generalist experience
- Experience in Publication and/or Media preferred
