About the Role

This role will report to the VP of People Operations and will be an integral part of the OrthoFi People Operations team. You will coordinate the people operations of a growing company, with responsibilities ranging from employee benefits administration to payroll assistance. We are looking for someone that is highly organized and able to establish efficient processes and procedures, demonstrates strong passion for their work, and can help OrthoFi’s community through its hyper growth and establish itself as an amazing place to work.

Essential job functions include:

  • Serve as the first point of contact on HR systems, programs, and administration. Assist with troubleshooting, identifying resources, navigating systems, and abiding by HR policies, procedures, and programs. Ensure that programs and policies are administered consistently throughout the organization.

  • Work closely with the recruiting manager to own all employee onboarding from the point of offer acceptance through their first day in the office.

  • Act as a liaison between the People Operations and Payroll teams to resolve issues and communicate changes to employee pay resulting from benefit change events such as open enrollment, employee qualifying events, and new hire elections.

  • Manage time and attendance systems and policies to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Assist in the administration of all company benefits programs, including but not limited to health, life, dental, short/long-term disability, Flexible Spending Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and 401K retirement plans offered through a variety of carriers and providers.

  • Maintenance of the office’s employee recognition program.

  • Assist with the completion of HR reporting, compliance, auditing functions, and other projects and assignments as needed.

  • Manage semi-annual performance reviews

  • Maintain and organize important information on personnel and people ops documentation.

  • Add firepower to the People Operations team, rolling up your sleeves to help with team events and activities.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in people operations/HR generalist responsibilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field.

  • HR certification (such as PHR or SHRM) is required; you have a broad base of knowledge in employment law and the principles and practices related to the human resource field.

  • Tech-savvy and can point to examples of times you pushed for new solutions, additional integrations, or automations of processes.

  • You understand insurance plans, can efficiently decipher the “small print,” and run comparative analysis when we’re up for renewal.

  • You deeply care about the employee experience and always question how you can improve it!

  • You understand when to escalate an issue and use discretion with confidential information

  • Ability to manage workflow, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced, frugal environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities.

This position will include a competitive salary and benefits, and may be eligible to earn stock options based on individual contribution and company performance. Compensation commensurate with experience.
