POSITION SUMMARY

Alterra Mountain Company is looking for a passionate and energetic individual to join our growing HRIS team.  The HRIS Manager is accountable for defining and managing the company’s ongoing support and governance of the HRIS systems (Ultimate Software, Kronos and Workday).  This individual will play a key role in driving adoption, ensuring best practices and supporting the functional requirements of the solution and its users.

In addition to the ongoing usage of the application the HRIS Manager will lead a growing team as the organization begins a project to align the company to Workday as the single Human Capital Management system, along with Kronos for time keeping.  The HRIS manager will continue to expand the organization’s adoption of various elements of the application while maintaining and enhancing the support and governance model to meet the growing business needs. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Directly source, manage, coach, and develop the Business Analyst(s) within Alterra’s HRIS team.
  • Implement best in class requirement gathering processes and BA methodology for Alterra (Business and IT teams) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, comply with high quality standards, and meet customer expectations.
  • Builds relationships with key user and operations groups to identify and resolve business issues.
  • Empowers an energetic and passionate team in growing their skills and knowledge while providing leadership and vision for best practices in HRIS processes and governance.
  • Leads the team in the ongoing transition and support towards the new HRIS system. Applies discipline and project management experience to bring new functionality to the customer while enhancing on a robust support model and delivering a user experience driven design.
  • Ensure system integrity, security and reliability.
  • Documents best practices, system configuration and standard operating procedures.
  • Designs and implements training programs to meet the varying needs of the end users.
  • Manages and prioritizes team capacity and allocation to various projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with all other leaders within the Information Systems team to ensure effective hand off or roles and responsibilities for various tasks and processes.
  • Identify and implement key metrics and monitor to ensure projects and support objectives are meeting desired outcomes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • 3+ years Workday experience
  • 5+ years providing support for and delivering HRIS solutions
  • Recent experience with large scale implementations required (10,000+ employees)
  • Recent functional/technical experience leading multiple, full-cycle HRIS implementations
  • Experience working in geographically dispersed business environments
  • Experience leading and managing a highly effective team
  • Experience in HR processes and process improvements is preferred but not required
  • Certification in Ultimate Software and/or Workday is preferred

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work with different levels of management throughout an organization, and translate customer needs into technology and process solutions
  • Systems implementation project experience including requirements gathering, functional and technical solution design, business process design and workflow, testing and user acceptance, deployment, and organizational change management and communication
  • Ability to recommend and coordinate appropriate enterprise change management to minimize business disruption
  • Candidate needs to have strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • A team player that motivates the team and drive to project success
  • Ability to identify risks, and mitigation plans that resolve implementation issues to stakeholder satisfaction
  • Manage integration of solution(s) into enterprise technical architecture and business environment
  • Extensive knowledgeable of financial, business, functional and technical environments at Alterra
  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; and demonstrated ability to interact with technical, non-technical, and business members of the organization
  • Experience with the creation of data warehouse solutions, master data management, process mapping and advanced presentation solutions

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Required to travel as needed up to and exceeding 25% during certain periods
