We are seeking a Head of Talent Management and Strategy to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
We will consider this role for continued remote work with some work/travel to our offices in Denver, Boulder, Boston, Chicago or Vancouver.

This newly created position will report to the Chief People Officer and serve as a thought leader on everything related to talent management. You will lead a team that creates unique, human-centric experiences and programs that impact our ability to operationalize at scale, in an agile manner, and help realize the highest potential in our amazing global team of Uplighters. This includes leading a team within the functions of People Strategy, Organization Development and Effectiveness, People Experience, and Talent Development, all within a framework of equity and inclusion.
What you will contribute:
People Strategy

  • Drive strategic planning efforts for People Team; Partner with the CPO and other leaders to establish a strategic vision and priorities for all talent work. Articulate and align internal stakeholders on our strategic choices for our talent philosophy and associated talent practices in support of Uplight's mission and strategy.
  • Define and develop People Team priorities, OKRs, and talent analytics strategy in alignment with company OKRs.
  • Drive highest priority, critical People-wide initiatives as set by CPO.
  • Benchmark talent management approaches to build programs that address needs and are ahead of the curve. Best practices are just our starting point!


Program and Change Management

  • Scoping ambiguous problems into concrete projects, lead large scale change management efforts across the talent portfolio.
  • Develop tracking and communication practices to ensure progress, accountability, and an understanding of how our work ladders to key initiatives.
  • Leverage data to support pragmatic analysis and build narratives as applicable to support project teams in advancing decisions for specific initiatives.
  • Partner with others in executive leadership on effective internal and executive communications.


People Experience and Development

  • Ensure the lived experience of our people is inclusive, supports Uplight's culture and values, and supports our intention of being a world-class destination employer. This includes things like managing our engagement and retention programs, ensuring the effective integration of acquisitions, and understanding the future of work.
  • Measure, understand and develop strategies that strengthen employee sentiment, engagement and retention.
  • Lead and measure global impact of DEI&B initiatives across the organization.
  • Lead people development strategies that accelerate everyone's ability to succeed at Uplight, today and in the future.
  • Regularly measure the progress and effectiveness of learning and development initiatives and programs relative to driving outcomes and impact
  • Partner with key stakeholders to build our strategy for leadership and management development, and drive initiatives and programs toward that strategy.


What you bring to Uplight:

  • 10+ years relevant work experience (Talent Management, OD/OE, Program Management, HR Consulting).
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, building and managing a team of high-performing, passionate professionals in a high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale change and projects; expertise in scoping, leading, delivering and measuring complex projects.
  • Fluency in, and a strong commitment to, DEI&B concepts and strategies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a passion for solving problems while being resourceful.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships across diverse range of stakeholders in a matrix and dispersed environment.
  • Passion for data and analytics, and ability to influence with data-driven recommendations and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including executive-level written and verbal communication skills, collaboration and diplomacy.
  • Excellent judgment with sensitive and confidential information.

Salary Range : $180,000 to $220,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.

Our Boulder office has plenty of nearby restaurants, bars and hotels for our visiting employees, as well as in office employees to enjoy. We have on-site parking, and when you enjoy a walk near the office - you can take in the views of the Beautiful Boulder FlatIron Mountains nearby - Enjoy!
