Hotel Engine, a startup based in Denver, is a leader in travel tech with a demonstrated track record of growth and impact. Our foundations are strong, and we’ve navigated the COVID-19 crisis by bringing our customer obsession, innovative platform, data-driven problem-solving, and bias for action into every decision. By partnering with tens of thousands of businesses and government agencies and hundreds of thousands of hotels around the world, we have built a resilient and adaptable business model and 2021 will be our best year yet. Working hard behind the scenes are exceptional people–from our large engineering and product teams, to our fast-growing sales, supplier and member experience orgs, to our data, marketing, and operations teams. As individuals and together, we show our DNA every day with our curiosity, will to win, ownership and high standards.

We’re looking for a Director of Recruiting to join our Talent & Culture Team during an exciting period of growth. Building on the momentum of 2020 and Q1, we have another 100 people to hire in 2021! Our Director of Recruiting will lead our Recruiting Team, serve as a strategic partner to leaders across the business and help shape our recruiting strategy, talent brand and candidate experience.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Lead and develop a high performing Recruiting Team coaching them through all stages of the hiring process and toward individual and team development goals
  • Partner with leaders across the company, building rapport and trust by demonstrating your business acumen, functional expertise, good judgment, and ability to deliver
  • Ensure we are able to scale by evaluating how we do things to recommend and implement more efficient and effective approaches
  • Bring a data-driven mindset to measure the team’s success using recruiting data, OKRs and external inputs to evaluate the performance and impact of our recruiting processes and programs
  • Contribute to our DEI strategy with our Talent & Culture team and Engine4All ERG to design, strategies, policies and programs that increase growth from underrepresented groups and ensure our hiring experience is inclusive
  • Partner with the Talent & Culture team to build and operationalize processes involving internal transfers, referral programs, relocation, and immigration support
  • Recruit a select number of high-priority, senior roles
  • Create clear messaging and communications both internally and externally for recruiting – ensure that our web site, social presence and other collateral reflect this
  • Monitor HE’s external reputation on the dimensions of recruiting, onboarding and associate experience and partner internally to address opportunities or issues
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, resources and systems to support HE’s recruiting objectives, ensuring we have a fresh approach that evolves with our business, the market and trends in talent

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Experience managing complex and effective recruiting programs and teams in high-growth, competitive startup environments
  • A track record of performance and a trajectory of progression into roles of increasing scope and responsibilities
  • Experience tracking metrics, productivity and outcomes and developing tools and resources to enhance processes and outcomes
  • Experience creating sustainable programs that support recruiting and retaining a diverse and representative team
  • Expertise in and curiosity about the best ways to recruit, hire and onboard talent and the ability to design and implement the right ideas to support HE business goals
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with an eye for the details and an obsessive commitment for accurate, timely and effective execution
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the drive to take ownership for the development and cultivation of strong internal and external relationships
  • A bias toward action, sense of urgency and track record of personal accountability
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to deliver quality outcomes with a desire to improve and exceed expectations across all aspects of the role
  • Ability to effectively frame and identify issues and generate solutions
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to recognize, recommend and take action on opportunities

Cash compensation:

  • The base salary range for this role is $125,000-$150,000. This role is also eligible for an equity grant. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and geographic location.
