We believe in the power of hiring. Because the potential for people to do something outstanding has everything to do with being in the right role, on the right team, at the right time. That’s where Greenhouse comes in – from recruiting to on-boarding, we make software to help every company be great at hiring.

Greenhouse is looking for a Director of People Operations to join our team!

Reporting to the Vice President of People, you will own and refresh the systems, processes, policies, and checks currently in place for the People Operations function at Greenhouse. You will have direct oversight of onboarding, promotions, benefits, data maintenance and integrity, internal policy, and leave of absence (LOA) approval. More than anything, you will have major influence over the strategic direction of a rapidly growing company!

Who will love this job

  • A trusted advisor – you inspire confidence in those you interact with through your depth of expertise, rigorous thinking, and sound judgement
  • A champion of fairness and equity – you guide and drive equitable, data-driven policy and decisions around people operations
  • A partner – you thrive when working with others and drive strong cross-functional partnerships to achieve results
  • A builder – you have a bias for action and capitalize on opportunities to create, contribute to, and improve processes
  • A data devotee – rigor in data integrity is your passion; you set a high bar for having excruciating attention to detail and inject those good habits into everything you touch
  • A thoughtful coach & educator – you enjoy helping others develop their understanding and approach to people operations

What you’ll do

  • Lead and manage long-term decision-making and strategic planning for the People Operations function
  • Surface and drive conversations and initiatives in service of the strategic plan you create and implement
  • Build processes that are simple, effective and clear both within the team and for our “end-users”
  • Manage the delivery of processes using data (KPIs) and experience (stakeholder feedback) to ensure a high degree of actual and perceived quality
  • Lead, manage, and develop the leadership of the existing People Operations leaders and team
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with all stakeholders (e.g., FP&A, Accounting, and Legal, etc.)
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures, systems, and teams are able to scale to support our growing international presence
  • Be an external-facing leadership presence at Greenhouse-sponsored and industry events

You should have

  • Proven experience leading, managing, and scaling a global People Operations function (i.e., employee lifecycle operations, benefits, policy creation, data maintenance and integrity, etc.)
  • Proven ability to set and execute against a long-term (18-24 month) strategy, inclusive of resourcing and tech stack
  • Deep analytics expertise; you use data to drive decisions and policy-making as well as to define business impact and team success
  • Strong business acumen; deep understanding of the business your team supports
  • Proven success driving DEI best practices into operations, systems, platforms, and processes
  • Deep expertise in US and EMEA employment law as it relates to People Operations
  • Your own unique talents! If you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications outlined above, tell us why you’d be a great fit for this role in your cover letter.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
