Director, People Operations at Guild Education
Guild is hiring for a Director, People Operations to own our people-related systems and processes. In this role on our growing People Team, you will bring structure and rigor to the administration of our people systems and processes. As the Director, People Operations you will be responsible for:
Compensation, Benefits & People Compliance
- Manage Guild’s benefits programs including interacting with brokers and insurance carriers to help resolve complex problems related to employee eligibility and enrollment
- Ability to present and explain benefits programs
- Manage and drive processes and tools including but not limited to: compensation planning, job changes/promotions/leveling, performance reviews, benefits enrollment and ADP administration of new hire onboarding and related activities utilizing ADP
- Facilitate annual compliance reporting (e.g., ACA, EEOC) and documentation such as creation and distribution of 1095 forms
- Manage and record employee leaves (e.g., FMLA and parental leave), worker’s compensation claims and disability claims
- Partner closely with Recruiting on new hire offers to ensure adherence to guidelines, and administer background checks and I-9 verifications
- Partner with Accounting on all compensation and payroll-related activities
People Processes & Systems
- Own the back-end management of our people processes, including:
- Performance management
- Headcount planning
- Compensation planning
- Open enrollment
- Off-boarding
- Own the back-end administration of our people systems, including:
- ADP WorkforceNow (our HRIS)
- Lattice (our Goals repository and Performance Review system)
- Pingboard (our Directory and Org Chart)
- Partner closely with Onboarding and support administering pre-start date logistics communications to new hires
- Recommend and implement incremental improvements to our systems, processes, tools, etc., to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability
People Management & Relationships
- Manage your team to execute processes and provide excellent service to existing and newly hired Guilders
- Serve as the primary point of contact with our vendor partners, including ADP, Lattice, and our benefits brokers and carriers - solving problems, uncovering solutions, and making the most of their offerings
- Work closely with colleagues in other parts of our People Team to solve problems, provide insights, and coordinate execution of people processes
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
Required Skills
- Expertise administering a full range of healthcare benefits during the full cycle of employment (PPO, HMO, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability, COBRA, etc.) and various types of employee leaves including but not limited FMLA administration
- Expertise navigating HRIS / ATS systems - and the ability to quickly master our systems, if not yet familiar with them
- Expertise in people systems and processes, including ADP
- Ability to organize and coordinate manual processes and recommending ways to make them more efficient, effective, and scalable
- Ability to execute work - and guide others to do the same - quickly, with high attention to detail, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to create and manage short and long-term project plans for systems, processes, and tools
- Excellent people management skills, including demonstrating respect and empathy, driving the business forward through others’ work, and investing in the team’s growth and development
- Strong understanding of employment laws at the federal, state, and local level
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow and Lattice
- Familiar with nonexempt hourly regulations
- Orientation toward data-driven decision making, taking raw data to insights to action plans
- High degree of motivation to learn, go above and beyond, and mentor team members
- Strong storytelling and slide/deck creation skills to communicate and influence employee and leader audiences
- Ability to present present and explain benefits programs to small groups
