We are seeking a Director of People Experience to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.

This role has a global scope for the areas of performance management, career development, employee sentiment and engagement, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, and for ensuring Uplight's culture and values are authentically lived. This position will report to the VP, Talent Management.
What you will contribute:
Performance management and career development

  • Lead projects to optimize our talent management designs around Performance Management, Talent Reviews and Succession Planning.
  • Ensure the successful and consistent delivery of core programs across talent management portfolio including performance management, compensation, promotions, career development
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to define and establish a long-term talent strategy that may include topics such as: identifying critical roles, determining talent gaps, contributing to internal mobility efforts, and developing long term plans to bridge talent gaps


Culture and Engagement

  • Ensure the lived experience of Uplight's employees reflects the intended employment brand, including Uplight's culture, values and operating principles.
  • Measure, understand and develop strategies that strengthen employee sentiment and engagement.
  • Lead, coordinate and measure global impact of DEI&B initiatives across the organization.
  • Promote allyship through education, awareness and employee engagement with the outcome being an inclusive and equitable workplace.
  • Play a key role in new employee onboarding to ensure belonging, learning and success from the start. This includes for colleagues joining through M&A.


Leadership

  • Collaborate with others in People Operations, Learning & Development, HR Business Partners and other leaders to develop solutions and resources customized to user groups (individuals, managers, leaders, HRBPs, function-specific resources, etc.)
  • Directly manage a team as we grow.


What you bring to Uplight:

  • Strong experience developing and leading Talent Management efforts such as Performance Management, Talent Reviews and Succession Planning.
  • A passion for Uplight's mission, vision, and core values.
  • Strong program, project, and process management skills.
  • You're diplomatic, collaborative, and are comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing new, innovative strategies to create high quality, compelling employee and manager experiences that challenge the status quo of "HR best practice."
  • The ability to operationalize at scale, in an agile manner, by balancing the need for both speed and quality. An understanding that high quality work will take multiple iterations and feedback loops from a matrixed set of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the impacts and outcomes in decision-making processes and on historically marginalized communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, gender identities, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to gather and use data to drive decisions and narratives around talent programs and change management.

Salary Range: $110,000 to $140,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.

Location

Our Boulder office has plenty of nearby restaurants, bars and hotels for our visiting employees, as well as in office employees to enjoy. We have on-site parking, and when you enjoy a walk near the office - you can take in the views of the Beautiful Boulder FlatIron Mountains nearby - Enjoy!
