Director, People Development
About the opportunity
As the Director of Contentful’s People Development team you will lead what has traditionally been called the Learning & Development department. Your mission will be to strengthen our existing learning and development framework and rhythms. Partnering with leaders across Contentful, you’ll introduce new ways to elevate employee engagement, career development, and recognition that help us to develop and retain top talent. You’ll lead a global team of development focused colleagues to drive strong performance management programming, employee engagement and learning for our next chapters, from the moment of an employee’s arrival at Contentful though their full employment journey.
What to expect
A year from joining you will have achieved the following three things:
- Using your strong command of our business and our 3-year strategy, you will have built a development framework that achieves skill mastery. Execution of programming within the framework will be underway.
- Our director-level and above people managers will be operating as business owners and will take responsibility for their three core responsibilities: attracting, developing, and engaging their teams.
- You will be viewed as the go-to partner for all development planning and execution and will have a key voice in determining what should be delivered centrally versus at the department level.
What do you need to be successful?
- You have a proven track record of accomplishment in a high growth, international environment, that focuses on skill mastery (vs exposure).
- Your experience is progressive and centered around talent management, leadership development, internal human resources consulting, organization development, leading organizational change, and / or change management initiatives, much of which was done in a muti-national environment.
- You use data and analytical skills to draw insightful conclusions and solve problems.
- You’re experienced in change management and process improvement activities, designing scalable solutions and implementing these at a rate that’s consistent with our pace of growth.
- You’re persistent, proactive and able to influence leaders at all levels to understand their role in employee development and help build their skills.
- You embody our core values and have a deep commitment to inclusion and diversity.
